Re: Classic Pop August 2019

Makes sense for them to add a german track given they've been influenced by that scene..... modernises the play somewhat

Left To My Own Devices is both orchestral and their manifesto :)

Fundamental had a great blend of orchestra and electronic. We'll see that again.

Sometimes feel like I'm the only person that thinks this film is absolute dog w***! I mean the acting is horrendous even from the actors!
It's very kitschy, not to everyones taste!

At the very least, the snippets worked terrific in Always On My Mind filmclip.

Love a good instrumental from them... so this pleases me!

It's a good story, too.

Re: The musical that just won't die ;)

I just read this review: https://www.thestage.co.uk/reviews/2019/closer-to-heaven-pet-shop-boys-review-at-above-the-stag-london/ It mentions the songs are great and so are the preformances, but the biggest problem with the musical is the book. Ah good review. One of the cast has pics from the progr...

Re: The musical that just won't die ;)

Don't get why people think they can tell Neil or Chris were to spend their artistic time. There's massive things going on in the world. Massive. And it's hugely interesting. The fact that there are very few songs coming out of it is a reflection of how lulled and siloed the world has become. I don't...

Re: The musical that just won't die ;)

Anyway. I gave the cast recording CD a spin last week. It still has some great songs on it. Yeah I agree, it's a very vibrant collection of tracks. Lots of good characters and ideas. It works best listening after a gap though... a bit like as if you were going to the theatre for the first time. As ...

Re: The musical that just won't die ;)

Dictator is clearly about Kim. If Donald fits the dictator mold, then it says something.

We haven't even heard Dreamland.

Nobody complained about the two (far more considerable) tracks about Tony Blair. One was a proper first single of an actual album, and the other closed an actual album.

Re: Bubadubadubadum (All My Wasted Time)

Love Bubadubadubadum

It's bright and quirky, painfully retro, and could of easily fitted in on Super (an album of boldly chiseled tracks)

Thank you!

Can anyone lip read what Neil is saying?

Looked intense. Were they debating where to go for dinner?
