Re: Live performances of Chris in past and now.

Good topic. I think the last time Chris performed Paninaro was on the Fundamental tour (2006). It used to be a pretty regular staple of a PSB show. He took on multiple roles in Performance (1991) including stripping in We all feel better in the dark and getting drunk in West End girls. That was prob...

Re: Any crazy hanging out stories with Neil/Chris?

I was fortunate to meet and chat with Chris after the first performance at the Savoy in 1997 (at the stage door afterwards) I was utterly star struck but I had enough presence to talk about football and Arsenal mainly and keep the chat away from music and fandom.. In return he was totally charming ...

Re: It Couldn’t Happen Here June 2020 Release Confirmed

The commentary is a little disappointing. Jack clearly can’t remember much about it; indeed it feels in many places like he’s watching it for the first time. But his love for the film comes across strongly. Apparently he didn’t get along with Joss Ackland, but all performances are praised and there ...

It's a lovely package and I'm happy to have the book.

Can anyone decipher bottom left? The middle word looks like “album”; can’t work out the other two.

Re: Actually vs Introspective, choose the best one

Introspective is when they went batshit crazy isn’t it? It’s the prog rock of disco: Six tracks averaging eight minutes each Multiple producers, and Frankie Knuckles Massive orchestra Latin band Big house / rap breakdown in the middle of an Elvis ballad An acid house anthem A song about dogs It migh...

Re: What would you think a future PSB's album should sound like in order to reinvent themselves?

I think we’ll get PSB’s “England” album... a counterpoint to Hotspot... More Bernard Butler, maybe co-producing alongside them; Tracey Thorn on a few tracks. Inspired by country walks and musings on identity. I’d be well up for that.

Re: US TOUR

Are you guys saying that the gigs will not be all the same? Some will mostly feature PSB, others New Order? That seems rather weird. It's a Unity, so I thought both bands will be of equal importance on all dates. They’re both equally billed. But in some shows New Order will open, to be followed by ...

I guess from tomorrow the new Government guidelines mean in theory Neil and Chris would be able to meet in person and spend time at each other’s houses.

Re: It Couldn’t Happen Here June 2020 Release Confirmed

Is there a commentary track with Neil and Chris? I seem to remember they mentioned recording one in a past issue of Annually or possibly Literally. I know its not listed o n the packaging, but perhaps its hidden on the discs? It' on the Elysium track commentary (i think) Chris said the only reason ...

It’s brief; 18 months covered over two pages in mostly single line diary entries, like in Literally. Lots of night shoots, interspersed with Top of the Pops recordings and video edits. It must have been a busy time for them.
