Re: Very rare performance

I remember watching this at the time. I should imagine the only reason it happened at all is because the presenter Normski was going out with Janet Street-Porter. She produced the DEF-II yoof TV strand, of which Dance Energy was a part. It was a good show.

Best version? Take off DJ Culture and Was it worth it?? and replace with Go West and Love Etc.
If we're allowed to time travel now then they should include the absolutely brilliant single they release in September 2025.

Well to be exposed to Atom as one of your first ever tracks is some test ... after that it's all easy!

Well done CroMagnon

Re: Death of Ennio Morricone

An opportune moment to say that, film or no film, It Couldn't Happen Here is an all-time classic that will never leave my PSB top-10, and in no small part down to Morricone's arrangement. I don't think he did arrange it though, did he? Reading the rest of this thread it seems his contribution was t...

Re: Death of Ennio Morricone

Did Neil and Chris originally want Ennio Morricone to have some involvement with Jealousy, or did I imagine that? Yes they wanted him to arrange it :D Neil talked about it at the RAH concert here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcm3nz76YPo&t=48m40s Ah yes, I should have remembered as I was at that ...

The song that became ICHH. RIP Ennio Morricone x
Never heard that before - thanks! Did Neil and Chris originally want Ennio Morricone to have some involvement with Jealousy, or did I imagine that? I don't have my Further Listening booklets to hand.

Re: Odds that Chris/Neil read this forum?

They have seen the forum. Neil has described it as "bitchy" in the past, (which I don't disagree with at times). I doubt they'd take advice from us, didn't Neil say he reads Facebook comments sometimes? Oh the irony of Neil campaigning for privacy and against ID cards etc. but using Facebook! I can...

Re: Cicero - Love Is Everywhere Demo

Why wasn’t Cicero huge? Four banging singles, a track on a successful film, the weight of PSB behind him. In hindsight I think there was little marketing and not enough money behind it all. Had he been signed by a major with a decent advance, I think he’d have been very successful. As it was it fel...

Re: Actually vs Introspective, choose the best one

I disagree that Introspective represents the imperial era. None of the 4 no. 1 singles are from it ( Always on my mind was either standalone or attached to Actually anyhow). It simply caught the momentum — came out when PSB were big. In 1989, PSB was quite Imperial too. Domino Dancing was Number 1 ...
