Re: It Couldn’t Happen Here June 2020 Release Confirmed

Well it depends on what you see as the right frame rate. The bluray release replicates the theatrical release at the time. That the later PAL VHS was faster (and thus shorter) is irrelevant I would say, as that was not the theatrical release. And if you want a replication of the PAL video release y...

Re: What would you think a future PSB's album should sound like in order to reinvent themselves?

Most if not all of their albums have been a reinvention - you could hardly get two more different albums in a row than Behaviour and Very. And then Bilingual, a complete left turn. As was Release, the guitar band album. And Fundamental, the political album. It's what they've done all their career, w...

Re: Which song Pet Shop Boys could cover in the future?

A mega-banging updating of Damian's version of "The Timewarp", with Sylvia Mason-James belting out the backing vocals. Sure Chris could create a groove for that!

Re: Smithsonian presents: Project Pride feat. PSB

Simply great version. I would of course have liked more but there was a lot of care and thought in both presentation and the re-recording, which shows attention to detail. Seeing Chris' back is classic Lowe, loved it.

Re: Just listened to Relentless - it's not very good

With my partner out a rare chance to hear again at almost full volume with the doors rattling and the speakers pumping air, a benefit of detached living... An enveloping experience, really doesn't need a remaster, absolutely top drawer PSB. Oh for a Relentless 2!

Re: Just listened to Relentless - it's not very good

Dug Relentless out of the rack based on this thread ad it's even better than I remember. On a half decent system it sounds fantastic, nothing like the ridiculously heavily compressed stuff being released now. It doesn't need a remix, excellent just as is. Chris at his best.

Re: Just listened to Relentless - it's not very good

Relentless is absolutely fabulous. I was very lucky to get the very last copy in HMV in Kettering on a day out and impressed as I was with Very this shines. The two albums fit beautifully on a C-90 cassette for the car, wore that tape out in the end. Class.

Re: Bring him back - I know who I want to produce the next album

I get the rush to today's 'Here today, forgotten tomorrow' producer or remixer who are having their 15 minutes of fame for singles but not for albums. Nothing is bound to make it date quickly than that choice. Someone with considerable experience of the mainstream like Giles Martin or Quincy Jones, ...

Mano Le Tough - Meh. Does nothing, goes nowhere. Typical DJ ego trip.

Both David Jackson versions are good however.

Yep, here tomorrow says Amazon after initially saying it would be delayed due to Covid-19 stuff being prioritised. Whoo-hoo! A new CD single is always a joy to savour, manage to keep away from the previews that spoil that anticipation of the first play.

Re: Annually 2020 + Free CD

Christ, stop whining. We are so lucky to have so much new material to hear and to read. If you feel like you are being ripped off or it's too much material being released approaching the twilight of their career don't spend your money and stream it on YouTube like kids today who don't own a thing.
