Re: funko Pops

I wonder if they could pull off the Actually tux versions? They wouldn't need to differentiate the bodies then but the issue there is the Neil figure would need a mouth for the yawn. Without that it'd be an epic fail. Personally, I think the Go West outfits would be the most visually appealing and w...

Re: funko Pops

I sent them the idea in January with a lengthy email as to why they deserved to be ‘idolised’ in this way. It looks like they have listened - fair play to them! Well done. I'm kind of sick of the more obvious Funko Pop figures. Hopefully these are fun and based around some of the more identifiable ...

Re: That Crossover Moment.....

I would rather listen to TSOTAS 100 times a row than listen to Release all the way through just once.
Not sure I'd go that far, but TSOTAS has never wound me up like it seems to do for some people.

If we want to talk about unlistenable PSB tracks, my vote goes to "Footsteps".

Re: Death of Ennio Morricone

A bit surprised the Boys didn't acknowledge his passing on their website. Yeah I was wondering if they would say something. Perhaps they didn't have much to say as they never managed to meet him in person. There is probably even some minor grievance about how he treated them. At the RAH concert Nei...

Re: That Crossover Moment.....

I had a school friend who was a massive fan. He made me a mix tape of PSB, some time in 1989. Looking back, it was a slightly weird mix of songs; I remember that it had The Sound of the Atom Splitting on it, Don Juan, and Shopping, but not Rent, Suburbia, What have I done to deserve this? or Domino...

Re: Death of Ennio Morricone

From the Reissues booklet: We’d written this song ‘Jealousy’ – one of the first songs we wrote, which would eventually be recorded for Behaviour – and we wanted Ennio Morricone to do the string arrangement. So Tom Watkins tracked down Ennio Morricone’s manager and he came to Sarm West and we played...

Re: Death of Ennio Morricone

I was always a bit fuzzy on how this collaboration came about - did Ennio Morricone write the music first and then PSB used it in a "Se A Vida E" style to work around it for their own song, or was this a proper collab with EM? I've never really heard or read much about the development of this song, ...

They don't seem to have read the complaints about the Official Store.
A case in point as to why they should take a peek from time to time, but filtering out the noise would be a pain.

Re: Odds that Chris/Neil read this forum?

It's a shame because there are some genuinely good suggestions here that they could really pick up on, but I guess sorting the wheat from the chaff could get to be a bore. Where did the "banging and lasers" thing come from? Wasn't that someone on here who said that, or was that from one of Geowayne'...

Re: That Crossover Moment.....

I think the real defining moment for me was late 1986. Up to that point I was very much aware and liked the singles and "Please" but only had a pirated cassette of it from a friend. I was in Woolworths (Yay Woolies! ) in Worthing, Sussex, and they had "Disco" playing in the music section of ...

And a great quote from the associated online article here: https://www.the-tls.co.uk/articles/pet-shop-boys-literally-pet-shop-boys-versus-america-chris-heath-review-lynsey-hanely/ "The Pet Shop Boys are the ultimate pop act for thinkers and feelers: for those who do both a bit too much, who make ex...

Somebody just stole the art idea of I don't wanna...
I think unfortunately this was released first, so technically PSB (or Farrow) stole it.

Re: Video Remasters

It was around 20 years after release before I knew of any controversy around the Domino Dancing video. Innocently thought it was just two guys getting into a scuffle over a very hot woman. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk  Me too. I thought she was proper gorgeous and got zero homoerotic r...

Re: Video Remasters

Gotta be honest, these aging eyes dont see enough of a difference to really care. The human eye and ear can probably only see and hear up to a certain level of clarity before this sort of stuff becomes a waste of time and a gimmick to shift the same copy of a song or movie for the umpteenth time. I ...
