Re: New EP in April: Agenda

In case you were wondering about the photography credits of Agenda. To me that picture didn't look like it had "PSB quality". So I did some searching. Appearantly standards have been lowered to using stock photos now. Gone are the days of great videos and brilliant photographs. It's a shame, really....

I'm struck by the production technique used on Neil's voice. Not something we've had from Stuart Price.
The vocals are double-tracked. Which was also done on most of the tracks on Electric and Super.

Re: New EP on April: Agenda

Hmm the link to Amazon on the official site to preorder the 12" doesn't work, it links to Amazon.com and not even to the order page for the 12". Maybe because I'm not in the UK but anyway.

This is the correct link:

Re: PSB announce ‘Inner Sanctum’ live DVD/BLU RAY/CD

Really great that they include the BluRay, DVD and CD versions of the concert. Maybe not in the highest possible resolution but let's not complain and just be happy that this is released at all. Best seller on Amazon UK at the moment! The packaging looks stunning. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07N3XJ...

Re: Reissues project

More and more of these are being re-released now which will affect the value of the initial releases though. I doubt that that is the case. A first pressing remains a first pressing. There will always be people who prefer that, especially when the re-issues contain (mastering) errors or omit bonus ...

Re: Reissues project

Listening to Actually it seems like they took the 2001 remasters as a starting point, cranked up the high and low frequencies a bit and that's it. If you listen to the 2001 and 2018 remasters of It's A Sin and compare that to the version on Discography it's unbelievable how much transparancy and cla...

Re: Reissues project

The glitch in Don Juan (Disco Remix) at 4:51 on Introspective Further Listening is also still there. Makes you wonder how this remastering process went. Does anyone actually listen to these releases before they are being put out? Someone remastering this stuff, who you'd expect to be listening caref...

'Yes and no' would be a great PSB song title.
There is already the unfinished "Yes in a no kind of way". Which would also be the perfect answer to the question whether you'll hear the difference between the two remasters...

Re: The Catalogue Interviews - put your questions to Julian Mendelsohn!

Also, what is the correct name for the sound effect used throughout the song? He probably won't be able to answer that because it was already in the original version produced by David Jacob, and was just sampled in the version produced by Julian. The intro sound sounds like someone saying "I Love Y...

Re: The Catalogue Interviews - put your questions to Julian Mendelsohn!

Another one:

As the story goes, on the album version of Heart you wiped out some tracks by accident, resulting in the solo "beat, beat, heartbeat" intro. What happened exactly? How was the intro supposed to sound, what was removed from the mix?

Re: The Catalogue Interviews - put your questions to Julian Mendelsohn!

Here's a question for Julian: The versions of It's Alright mixed by you (and released on The Alternatives 10") contain elements of both the album version and the final single version. The single version could very well have been a remix of your version, but you're not credited on the single version....
