The horn section in Madonna's "4 minutes"..

#1 Post by boyposh »

sounds a tad familiar...like it is sampled from a PSB song....anyone think so? Infact, the whole structure of the song sounds like a PSB song in some odd way...

It sounds like a Pepsi advert: Madge, Beavis out of N-Stync and Hip-Hop™ team up to save the world using the power of Pepsi. In a stroke of postmodern horror and a nod to Heroes, Britney plays the methed-up cheerleader in the video/TV ad.

I'm sure there's a horn on there guaranteed to sell some Pepsi in Cuba.

I still haven't heard the single yet. Where does one go?

To me, it sounds more like the high-school marching band sound, as already exhaustively exploited by Gwen Stefani (Bananas!) and Missy Elliott. It's kind of an urban-youth US urban motif, a teenage thing, as depicted in multiple movies.

Don't hear PSB really..

As long as there's no rapping on it.

what an AWFUL track, or maybe boring is a better word. Those horns are sooo cheesy and...stupid really (even though they used the Stock/Aitken/waterman chords!).
Mediocre melody.

You're probably thinking about the beginning of "Hit Music" from Actually.

I am thinking of Hit Music, and I hear the timerlake and timbaland sound, but... what I hear though, is the Domino Dancing rythm (with a higher pitch) and the Domino Dancing backing vocals (a-ah---a-ah---). I would like to hear a song performed by Pet Shop Boys and Madonna. Not remixes or some backing vocal collaborations, but a full track by them, singing together - maybe like on the Hello Spaceboy, with David Bowie.

I know madonna liked the Pet Shop Boys music since she and they started singing back in the 80s. why not apearing on the next pet shop boys album in a cool collaboration, and just making her music by inspiring from old psb singles, right?
I hope the music plays forever

I agree. The song is crap! It's just a Timbaland mess-of-sound, and those plastic "brass" are really annoying! I can't stand the rhythm either...
