Australian News Roundup
Re: Australian News Roundup
I went into JB at World Square in Sydney and got a guy who checked the computer and said that it wasn't in yet. He also checked to see if there was an embargo and there wasn't. He said this means that they can start selling it as soon as they get it in, usually a Thursday afternoon.
Even though he was young (early 20s) he got excited when I mentioned Pet Shop Boys. He loved Electric and was upset that he didn't see any of the Sydney Electric shows. A lot of his friends went and raved about the show. I presume that they would be the same age group.

See, I'd given up on getting it up here. JB's is our only option for physical music these days, and the guys and girls there look at me like I've got two heads if I say "Pet Shop Boys". "Who are they???"

And everything about tonight feels right and so young
And anything I'd want to say out loud will be sung
It's in the music...

Got mine from Adelaide City store. They brought it out from the back. Shockingly it is not made in Australia. The end of an era.
Re: Australian News Roundup
Got it!!
But JB Narre Warren haven't even got their stock in yet
They tracked down a copy at the Cranbourne store, so very speedy drive there! They only had 4 copies left & saved one for me. Guess what was playing on the store's P.A system? "Super" - how cool. The track was Pazzo!!

But you're right, it says made in the EU. An end of era indeed.
Btw my Pop Kids CD came from the OS in yesterday's mail, so I enjoyed playing that last night!!

Re: Australian News Roundup
I can't believe it's not manufactured locally. I think the USA copy is made there.
Must have something to do with a cost saving strategy. No video for Pop Kids. No costly deluxe edition that sits on shelves for ever or is returned for pulping. Since going at it alone they are trying to cut every unnecessary expenditure.
I think they lost money on the VF edition of Electric, so I wonder if they will try this again.
