Lyrics if the day...

#1 Post by boozik » Mon 01 Apr 2013, 5:34 pm

Edina: Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. I'm
chanting as we speak, bye, bye, darling. Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong.
Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. Sweetie! Sweetie! Sweetie! Sweetie! Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. Ong,
plong, kerplinky, plong. Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. I'm chanting as we speak, bye, bye, darling.
Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. Ong, plong, kerplinky, plong. Champers all
right for you, Pats?
From Absolutely fabulous

Q: on the show, Patsy says, "Oh it was just a windscreen-washer I picked up at the traffic lights".

In the PSB song it's dubbed in and changed: "Oh it was just a windscreen-washer I picked up at the ..?"

Charpin? (French pronunciation). Shar-Pan? I coud never make that out. Always guessed it was some in-joke, some London gay club of the moment or something.

"Dull, soulless dance music
It's the bloody Pet Shop Boys, Sweetie"

I like the song, actually. I know that's a crime on this forum, but *shows knickers*

Just figured it out- it's the Rollo Our Tribe Tongue In Cheek Mix on Disco 2 I was thinking of- at about 3:10-12 in the track. Patsy's line is truncated and echoey, it doesn't sound like "traffic lights"- but it's chopped and overlapped with the next vocal. Anyway! Thanks Agent Doris, xo.
