I remember, a few years ago, he made a terrible remix of a psb song. He just added a few effects, but it was really too simple. I even asked if it was from him on facebook, and yes it was .

it was due to tight release schedules.
Neil Tennant has a great voice, Chris Lowe has great silence.

"I gotta have more flange!"

- Sterling to his engineer.
I sincerely *love* Disco 2 and listen to it straight through regularly.

This mix gives me the strong impression that the mixer (Void?) had zero access to the master tracks. It just sounds like a semi-competent (if that), screwing around with the album track.

It's just Fluorescent, with flangers and loops, it doesn't sound like a real remix.

What's it say? Image is too small to read.

If he never even started the remix then that tells me it could be for financial reasons or such. I imagine they would get a quote and possibly decided he was too expensive. Now that PSB are on their own label they don't have the kind of money they once did for such things. I am pretty sure that EMI used to take care of paying remixers? With a name like Sterling Void he can't be cheap!

Obviously I don't know for sure but it seems that it is nothing to do with schedules as they have had more than enough time to get this sorted and him never starting it tells me he never even got the stems of the track. Could be completely wrong of course and just an opinion.

This is very strange....few days after the announcement of the Void remix, he changed the front image of his facebook profile for the Pet Shop Boys logo! He was obviously more than happy with the situation...
