Re: Hotspot era design
Not so sure about a Comic Sans album

But you are right — it is the DIN (Deutsche Industrie Norm) typeface. I found out whilst making up a few posters to announce an event over here, in Amsterdam, celebrating the release of you-know-which-album. I will be DJ-ing that evening, which I’m looking forward to, of course.
Feels a bit shameless to open a separate threat for this, but should any of you guys be in Amsterdam that weekend, feel free to come! Here is the link to the event:

The banner also has a little audio teaser, more to follow in the coming 2 weeks

The back of the Hotspot CD is now viewable at https://www.discogs.com/Pet-Shop-Boys-H ... e/14688287 for those impatient people who are into that sort of thing (such as me).
Re: Hotspot era design
I mean, it looks EXACTLY as you would have expected based on the single sleeves but it’s still thrilling.

This same picture is in the musik express magazine.
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

Not quite Hotspot era design, but they were spotted walking through London yesterday by somebody on Twitter. This picture would actually make a good sleeve! https://twitter.com/damnfinelad/status/ ... 19169?s=21

Re: Hotspot era design
I think this might be the most uninteresting design era of their career... It must be intentional but none of these cover artworks evokes anything to me.
