Take a look at the Top 40..
The general public buy and listen to shit.
That's unfortunately true.

Wedding in Berlin
-It's truly unique, people will be like WTF and love it
-cheeky yet poignant message
-will be #1 in Germany and then all of Euroland
People will love it because it's garbage. Garbage sells.
*****
Apart from the obvious "choosing Wedding in Berlin because it's garbage" option
If I was to set the singles properly I would have had the first 3 singles for this album to have been in this order:
1. Will O Wisp
2. Dreamland
3. You Are The One
Or maybe juast leave it as a 2 single album.
If you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to fear
If you've something to hide, you shouldn't even be here

Does the fact that they chose to play I don’t wanna on the Graham Norton show on radio 2 today have any bearing on the next possible single choice?

Don't think so. They chose to play Bolshy once and that didn't become a single.
It's really an embarrassment of riches for the choice. You could make an argument for Will-o-the-wisp, Happy People, You Are The One, I Don't Wanna or even Only the Dark. The only 2 songs I would rule out are Hoping For A Miracle (nice but doesn't really scream "single" to me) and Wedding in Berlin. That really is incredible there are so many options after 3 songs have already been lifted.
“Unless you consciously include, you will unconsciously exclude” -Stephen Frost
people like to get into the lyrics of the music they are listening to IMO. and as apparently the only middle aged man on this forum I might not have the best chart sense but I suspect Wilo the wisp isnt a good choice.
I think you people need to step back from your bangers and mash requirements. Only the dark I think is very relatable and quite frankly the notion only the dark can show you the stars is very moving.
The thing is the two biggest options for the 4 th sound dated (late 80''s and early 90's).
I think Only in the Dark could be a hit in the 80's. Looks a soundtrack from a movie. It's a really good song and one of the best songs from this album. But I don't see many possibilities to get some attention right now. Anyway, I'm sure Radio 2 listeners would be happy with it, well with any of the 3 options to be honest.

Willo is absolutely not single material. It's a great opener/banger (my fave song on the album), but it's too high energy for a single.
agreed - probably too 'complex' for radio friendly listen and doesn't have an immediate hook.
Happy People or I don't Wanna for me.
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional
Despite my leanings towards Wedding in Berlin The only option left is Happy People; Willow is too hi-nrg and will suffer the same unfortunate fate as For Your Own Good from Nightlife.
