At 34:29 Neil mentions the song they've written that's similar to Blue Monday called "I'm keeping my fingers crossed".

Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad there's another podcast to listen to.
Generally I prefer video podcasts so I have something to look at, but oh well.

Guys here's the direct link the website is using, if you wish to download the MP3.

Love how Neil said that the "second album" by Culture Club was Culture Club's "Rumours" album and then Neil couldn't name the title of Culture Club's second album...which of course was the fabulous "Colour by Numbers"...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_by_Numbers

And when Neil...in the flashback interview on this podcast calls Boy George a "drag queen"! Oh how fun!

I like how Neil says that "Passion" by The Flirts was their "musical template".

I've only listen to about half of it and it's very good. It's great hearing about his pre PSB working life. Kudos to the interviewers. I don't recall hearing Neil being quite so forthcoming.

Interesting to hear Neil say he was worried about Jarvis and Pulp encroaching on PSB territory, and that he regarded Common People and Disco 2000 as very PSB tracks.
Woof.

Yes...this is quite a revealing interview. I also love how Neil says "bullshit" in the interview.

Marvellous interview. I remember the showgirls legs from my first visit to London in 1986 so it's great to hear Neil mention them. We've had the best ever interviews in this era. So many fascinating titbits!

Loved this. Hope someone else gets Neil around a table for a long-form chat. I’m sure that there are many, many more interesting and funny stories about the early days.

Wow that was so enjoyable and informative!! As Gabby previously mentioned above, that was probably the most forthcoming Neil has ever been in an interview! So many laugh-out-loud moments! Thanks for posting! x

Fantastic interview ... funny and informative. Love the classic blag for free concert tickets at the end.

😎
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional
