I have a soft spot for DJ Culturemix
Re: The best remix ever
Difficult to think of the best remix, I think it’s personal taste. Some mixes stray too far from the original to make it almost nothing like the original track. Some are not different or inventive enough to make a difference.
The best PSB remixes for me were done by Trouser Enthusiasts. Great re-imagining of the original and fantastic to listen to.
But my absolute favourite (I’m not saying it’s the best, just my personal choice) is the Gui Boratto mix of
Love etc.

Just remembered I also really like the extended versions of 'Somewhere' and 'Our House'

The extended PSB remix of Here is a great one for the pot .... probably the last one they did that I truly love
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

Might I add PSB's remix of Hallo Spaceboy to the mix? I think that's one of the best things they've done.

The Manilow Swing (bootleg) mix of Did You See Me Coming? Is the best remix this century.

Re: The best remix ever
There are so many great mixes out there.
I do think the boys have been spoilt royally with the quality of the YouTube mixes done unofficially, which have often been far better than the versions put out by the boys.
I often listen to a playlist of remixes including
Jcrz - more than a dream (30’ neourinal mix ?)
Nathan jay - all my wasted time
Blade - hoping for a miracle
Coversart - brick England
Nathan jay - later tonight
Now I come to mention it, I honestly think if they cleaned up (remastered) Nathan jays version of all my wasted time, it could be the biggest hit for the boys for 25 years !!! It has the makings of a thumping base line, teasing synth chords and a catchy chorus.
It rains over wedding in Berlin and probably all of hotspot.
Guess egos won’t acknowledge his version, especially since they blocked him on Twitter

Got to give a shout out to Moby’s Electro mix of Miserablism too...
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

I'd like to nominate Sodom (Trentemøller Remix). I've many a time pumped up the volume and let it rip while working. Is it there best? Depends what day it is but it's up there.
Others I like:
Hallo Spaceboy (Double Click mix)
I Wouldn't Normally do this kind of thing (Voxigen Mix)
My go to will always be Always on my Mind/In my House from Introspective.
I've found myself also spinning Gin and Jag (Frisky Mix) a bit of late as well.
Cheers.
Finn

Re: The best remix ever
For me it’s:
Somewhere (Extended mix)
I don’t know what you want but i cant give it anymore (Peter Rauhofer roxy anthem)
This must be the place I waited years to leave (Extended mix)
* after posting this, I’ve realised these might be influenced by wonderful opening song live memories!
The anticipation for the entrance for the Savoy shows; the sunny Intoxicated summer evening at Glastonbury; the magic and disbelief of the Performance show.

Hello my name is Neil Tennant and I'm Chris Lowe and we're of the Pet Shop Boys.
Re: The best remix ever
I really love the Shep Pettibone Disco mix of "West End Girls" on Disco.
The thumping beat, but still somehow retaining the mystique of the "original", the expanded lyrics, and I get shivers at the end as Neil sings "...and no-one knows your name." to fade.
Beautiful.
