Haha same here, I love a good list. I agree though it is a bit wonky, though it is a nice change from the usual lists voted by the general public, with Queen topping every poll. Further proof that the public can’t be trusted with a vote

It would be an even bigger coup for a PSB song to beat out the Beatles at #3. It's been long touted that Lowe/Tennant is as much of a songwriting force as Lennon/McCartney, but something like this would help to seal the deal.

I'm preaching to the converted I'm sure, but I think there's a lot of people out there who don't see it that way.

I'm genuinely worried you're right but it boggles my mind to think that West End girls or Its a Sin couldn't make anyone's top 100 list based on the Guardians criteria.

Like any list like this, it's preposterous and ultimately pointless but I'm still interested to see whether PSB are ignored or not. Ashes to Ashes should be there instead of Let's Dance, while Get It On being just behind Carly Rae Jepsen and Lil Nas X is particularly galling.

Quite frankly I expected better from this list. The high placing of The Beatles and The Beach Boys shows how little we have progressed, both in our views culturally and as regards an inclusive society. Patriarchal white privilege hegemony is what this list screams out to me. I expected better form The Grauniad, strange times indeed. What next,The Daily Mail giving away a free CD of music from a gay synth duo?

Yep, I think disappointment is on the books now. I'm frankly shocked though - some of the picks lower on the list would have made me certain of a PSB track at least somewhere along the way.
