Angels didn’t get to number one.joe stalin wrote: ↑Thu 04 Jun 2020, 12:11 pm Apparently an interview with the winner tomorrow
I bet it’s Robbie Williams with Angels
Or
Brian Adams with Robin Hood
Unless there’s a missing S or breaking news of the PSB splitting !!

Won’t be stormzy. Only UK number ones were Vossi Bop or Own It. Hardly genre defining

If there's an interview tomorrow then we can be 100% certain the winner is alive!

Reading some of the comments on there, a lot of people are convinced it'll be West End Girls. It's certainly the most likely of PSB's number one singles as it evokes a certain period in time and is genuinely innovative in terms of the hip-hop influence. Perhaps that's partly why they recorded a new version.....

Odds slashed that it’s going to be ‘house if the rising sun’
Let’s go with the thought... West End girls doesn’t make it.
Consider that: Out of the top 100 number ones of all time ... not one ( of their 4 number ones) makes the list
Hmmmmmppppphhhhhh
It will be a sad day
Lets hope I’m being too pessimistic

West End Girls it is then. This list has been compiled by people of a certain age, hasn't it?

I was -5 when West End Girls came out and thought it sounded rinky-dink as a teenager. What's your logic?
Now she could be disputing the assertion that choosing West End Girls as number one was owing to the writers' shared demographic - or she could still dislike it which, judging by some of her online posts, is unlikely.

She loves me was at no.3
Re: Guardian 100 Greatest UK No.1's
Yep, as Joe Stalin said, a band can only appear in the list once, and the Beatles were at #3 on the list, so no, it wont be the Fab Four at #1

Oh, I missed the #3 spot. But PSB on #1? I can't hardly imagine. But still.. No PSB on this list but Whigfield is... THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!
