God Willing - rough mix / Saving tracks from official site

#1 Post by Grover »

Hi,

I have a question/request. A special one.... I would love to play 'God Willing (rough mix)' as the intro to my wedding party! Ha! If I ever get married that is... :)

No I am serious though : I won't share it on the internet, but I just need a very good quality mp3 of 'God Willing - rough mix' that can be found in the Exclusive Tracks on the Official Site. My Belgium audio-specialist Yves already recorded it live from the site (for backup-purposes, because apparently in Litteraly it was stated that the tracks would not be available all the time on the OS), but I haven't listened to his recording yet.

So I would like to know : what more options do I have to obtain the best quality mp3 from 'God Willing (rough mix)'? Are there tools available to save it from the OS to my PC?

Thanks for any help!
Grover.

I found the tracks in my Temporary Internet Files on Windows XP.

They have this filename : xxx.mp3 where xxx is a 3-digit number, for example:

595.mp3 in case of God Willing - rough mix.
The direct URL = http://media.petshopboys.co.uk/mp3/595.mp3 (so you can even play / stream them directly within Windows Media Player from the official site).

God Willing - rough mix is even 192Kbps! 8) I am soooo happy!!! :D

I couldn't copy the track from my Temporary Internet Files to another map (got an error message in XP - how come?), but I did manage to play it in Windows Media Player and save it from there to another map on my harddisk.

Thank you, leesmapman! (you are addicted to the Story/Privé/Weekend I guess? )

There shouldn't be a problem copying the file from your temp folder to another Windows folder, I've done it many times. It sounds like your alternative method worked anyway, so no biggie.

Not possible here !

I use a Mac and it plays with Quicktime plugin. I can only save it to my harddisk when I buy Quicktime 7 Pro.

Are there other Mac-users who can save it without Quicktime 7 Pro ?
This must be the place I waited years to leave

It should be no problem: Right-click the file on the temp folder, click "copy" and then paste it to the folder of your choice and voila.

Do we have to be so open about all this??? Next thing you know, we wont have any new tracks on the OS.
I guess PMs should be enough to give the hint..

But after all they´re publicly there. Anyone can listen to them. The only problem are those idiots who put all those songs on fake cds and sell them on eBay.
