West End Girls (The Swedish Ones)

#1 Post by zupzong »

Well looks like the homepage is up (West End Girls go Petshopping). Seems like the music isn't the only inspiration. Take a look at the photos

Next question: will there be a whole album....?

True - but I'm very glad they don't sound like em though.

I sent an email to West End Girls management....

The forthcoming album is called "Goes petshopping" so it´s just Pet shop songs.

Rent

I wouldn't call them copycats, but a very well thought trough tribute band.
The idea is actually very good, and it must be a dream come true for today's pop producers, working with material as strong as the PSB back-catalouge.

And this band being fronted by two women will also broaden the appeal.

I will be looking forward to the album, and hope some talented producers/musicians is on the job.

My first impression of the cover is that itsounds a bit odd. However, it might grow on me & will probably sound better on my sound system. I suppose I'll have to get it. Actually, I'll probably end up with them before I get Paul Anka's cover of It's a sin.
I like it here ~~ wherever it is ...

The vocals aren't exactly strong - a bit crap, honestly - but I quite like the production. I will definitely buy the album.

If they want a big hit for a first single, I think Domino Dancing is a bit of an odd choice. Why not It's A Sin or Heart or something more obviously commercial?
