Comon people, Paninaro is obviously present in the (weak) track 'I love New York'! Anybody can hear that!
...'Confessions' is a great album by the way. My favorite track would be 'Future lovers'. Another nice track is 'Sorry, (in which she could have easily placed a sample of 'Can you feel it' by 'The Jacksons'!).

Well it looks like she was listening to PSB (among others) during the making of her new CD. See the link to a chat she recently did on AOL with Anthony from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I don't that the timpani in I LOVE NEW YORK is an intentional nod to PSB. If you take that view then there are hundreds of pop songs which use a bit of Paninaro. I rather think that it was the other way round - M and Stuart Price used timps in the song and then afterwards probably said "Oh, that sounds a bit like the PSBs"
The string pad at the beginning of JUMP sounds very very similar to the West End Girls string pad - and that seems like a muh more likely deliberate PSB reference.

We’re different from the others.
No one understands us here.
Imagine how free we will be,
If we disappear?

That's it, it's all over. We're out of here. What a Legacy! (c) Chris Lowe 2009

Markus, thanks for posting that, I was going to..
Darkmoon, yes, that timpani drum is totally Paninaro.. it's clearly there.
Cheers..
Wow, PSB have been always talking about her whether pro or con, but she's never deigned to mention them. I find it gratifying that at least in interviews she is acknowledging them as influences. The CD is so infused with that era and PSb were SO prime in taking NYC beats into the UK pop and dance ..I suppose we have Stuart Price to thank for re-enlightening her.
When will we ever get a picture of Neil and Chris with Madonna?
I offer a million dollar ransom.
