Radio 2...My Meet with........
I woke up yesterday with 'Friendly Fire' buzzing around my head and had already made plans to go along to the Radio 2 recording in London even though I didn't have a ticket. A fan from Newcastle had a spare ticket.....so I got in to see the show!!! It was the BEST!!! I was sitting in the middle of the second row and could see Neil and Chris so clear They sang quite a few songs from the new album, Numb, Indefinite leave to remain, The sodom and Gomorrah show. Rufus Wainwright sang 'Casanova in hell', Frances Barber sang.....Friendly Fire and ROBBIE WILLIAMS sang Jealousy!! All fantastic performances. They sang 'After All' and showed the famous Odessa staircase film clipping from Potemkin.
I waited with a few other fans at the stage door after the show and got photos of Syliva Mason-James (she was doing backing vocals), Trevor Horn, Rufus Wainwright and earlier in the day I stood just two feet away from Robbie Williams as he entered the building!! Then the best part:
At midnight....CHRIS came down stairs and I managed to get a few photos of him (YEAH)!! He got into his taxi with family members and I told him I was saying 'hello' from a friend in Canada to which he smiled and waved (He was a little tipsy!)
THEN some minutes later NEIL came out the stage door and again I said 'hello' from my friend in Canada to which he said 'say hello back to your friend' and I got my photo taken with him!! He put his arm around me..and I put my arm around him!! I put the film in tomorrow for developing, so should have the photos at the weekend!! OH...and someone came out and handed 'setlists' to us waiting fans. It was a magical night . I couldn't have wished for better.

It sounds like it was a fantastic night, Trixie.
I have found some pictures of Robbie and Elton arriving at the Mermaid Theatre. None of the Pets though, of course!

There is a great review of the show on Popjustice. (Apologies if this has already been posted - there are so many new posts I can hardly keep up!)

Interviewer:
-What would you tell someone about yourself if you wanted to impress them?
Chris:
-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

No digital camera ?Trixiemix wrote:To think if I'd had my camera at the 'ready' earlier that day I could have got a head-on pic of Robbie because he stared me in the face for about 3 seconds. I'll post whatever pics have come out decent....when I get them
