I agree. I'm not too fond of live versions on record either.
A DVD would be nice, of course.

Although I'll probably get "Concrete" in one form or another anyway
(ie downloading )

The title is a little strange, I woudl have preferred Mermaid, but hey.

As to not liking live albums, I don't really understand that arguement. With the PSB you get alternative versions, which effectively count as remixes. Look at What Have I done to deserve this, both on Performance and Montage, I'd love to have them on cd. Ditto West End Girls from Performance (with JJ Belle) and Love Comes Quickly from 1989 MCMLXXXIX. There's plenty more.So I'm delighted with the live album,

I agree but I'm going to get it because it has the fantastic and far superior Rufus Wainwright version of Casanova in Hell!
Everyone will think: this is a spelling error. Maybe that's why they do it?

Especially if it titled something like "PET SHOP BOYS LIVE IN CONCRETE!"

Pet Shop Boys: Concert - that was of course a bit too obvious.

But "Concrete Pet Shop Boys" will make people, and especially journalists, wonder what that is all about. And then they will have something to write about ;-)

So I believe that it's quite a good marketing trick, and it of course also makes sense after "FUNDAMENTal" :D
