they SHOULD release Integral as a download only release...
"Fundamental "album version, single version, "Disco 4" version and China Road, Dirty Tricks THAT would be worth buying..
It would cost EMI hardly a penny to stick it on I-Tunes as a download only single package for around 3.99 for the whole lot and probably sell alot more that "Dicko 4" (sic) !!!

To add to what Native said, I think in the right context it would have made for a good cd, perhaps as a bonus disc to a limited edition of Disco 4, with new tracks and remixes and leftovers appearing on the main disc like Disco 3. However, I just don't think its a strong enough collection or interesting enough concept to release outright on its own.To me it looks like something you’d give away as a fan club bonus or as a bonus second cd, like the third cd that came with PopArt.
I can't really justify buying it for one remix. It reminds me of the Bilingual special edition where they just cobbled together commercially available mixes with the exclusive extended mix of Somewhere.

Yes but with hits packages they usually have 2 new songs and it feels different.Undertaker wrote:Thats the same as a greatest hits package too. You have heard all the stuff time and time again.Propertius wrote:"Before anyones heard the damn thing"? The problem here is rather that we have already heard almost the whole damn thing, seven out of eight tracks.
I have never been keen on remixes. The majority are rubbish but i'm prepared to give it a listen before i judge.

Well, I didn't have much hope re Disco 4, not being too keen and all. I mean, it was highly unlikely to have new tracks et al. so, no major gripes from me.
But no Integral as next single, now *that* is crap.
I was hoping for some 'new' b-sides et al.
Also, it's about bloody time they confirmed and denied. Oh and I take back my "yay" in that Integral as new single thread.

From BBC News:
"Falling CD sales hit EMI earnings
EMI CD sales have been less than glittering of late Earnings have fallen once again at EMI as the music group continued to feel the pinch from falling CD sales. The UK firm said revenues from CD sales fell 19.8% in the three months to June as digital downloads gained ground."
I don't think Disco 4 is going to be of any help to EMI... Certainly not if these tracks are not going to be available on iTunes. I wonder what the motivation to release this was?

. I think collecting all their mixes on a double cd album would be a good idea at some point but as part of the Disco series it's a wasted opportunity (especially as just 6 are included). I agree that even hardcore PSB fans are unlikely to buy this cd, i don't know what PSB or especially EMI are thinking! The only posititive is that i can now sell my deluxe edition of Bowie's "Outside" album.

Well, I'm one of the lazy people that haven't got the mixes legally so that's why I'm OK with Disco 4.
I'd have liked it more though if these were included:
Blur - Girls and Boys - PSB 12" mix
Yoko Ono - Walking On Thin Ice - PSB extended dance mix (instead of the electro mix)
Rammstein - Mein Teil - PSB "You are what you eat" mix (instead of the no guitars one)
Kiki Kokova - PSB vocal mix
Also, what happened to the PSB remix of I'm Gay?
