Neil's just posted a solo demo of his own from 1981 over on the official site.
Thoughts?

Both of you are correct. Actually it is 639, 640 and 641.

Nice to hear some unheard stuff!!!!
More info from Neil on this would've been better.. eg., was this before/after he met Chris?? :s.
Lyrics anyone?
And was this meant to be on Release?
with the guitar and all
P.S. Thanks Neil!!!!!!!! :-*

"This is a song I wrote in 1979 and demoed in early 1981 (before I'd met Chris) at the studio of a reggae producer in South London. It's just me and my guitar and a lot of reverb."

I love slow songs that are just voice and guitar and maybe a pad that dont have any drums and are in a minor key.

What a great song to post. It's quite good. I always wanted to hear Neil's Early stuff. I wonder what Chris has locked away?

It's interesting to be able to hear this and see how it compares to PSB's music. I think it's a very nice song.

I like it. It wouldn't sound out-of-place on Release.

Oh my.
Lyrically - it has it's moments.
Melodically - well ... it's a good thing he later met up with Chris.
Overall - Wonderful to hear proto-PSB.
I like it here ~~ wherever it is ...

I think it´s great. Just started to listen to it the 3rd time.
But what on earth is the part in the beginning where someone says go.
Interviewer:
-What would you tell someone about yourself if you wanted to impress them?
Chris:
-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

Some well dodgy singing towards the end.
Very brave of Neil to put this up for public scrutiny. Well done Neil!
