Also, the Democrats involved in this scandal much larger than ENRON should be indicted: Barney Frank, Chris Todd, Franklin Raynes etc. They blocked all bills introduced by Bush that could have prevented this disaster. Hell, it was Greenspan himself that went before congress saying we needed a bunch of new schemes for mortgages because people were paying too much for their mortgages as is.

Of course a lot of the banks are to blame, they collected the fees and the bundled the loan and sold it to another company. That's why they were pushing through all these mortgages, they could sell the debt off to someone else. There was a time when you couldn't do that but hey, the banking industry lobbied hard and in 1998 or 1999 Phil Gramm and the Republican congress gave them what they wanted.

And now it's gone to Government by Dow.

the crisis in a nutshell comes down to bad lending practices.

the banks gave to people their own slidebar rules could tell them couldnt repay the loans.regardless of fee's or selling of debt,they did... lend to low income people who for all intent and purposes didnt have the money or credit to make the loan/morgage work.

this side issue about greenspan and deregulation, is neither here nor there since the only reason these banks would lend to people who obviously on paper were unable to repay was because they were intimidated by agencys like ACORN into having to loan to these types in the first place.that they cranked thru to get the fee's is understandable when they could see what was transpiring.

if you want to blame a poltical party, start with liberals and the democratic social engineering of giving poor people loans...how about that.

I don't live in the US, but the way I see it, Obama and the Democrats is the best option for the economy, and world-peace. In my opinion, McCain is a war-mongerer - much like the current administration.

Also, McCain is 76 years old and may well die on the job. From what I have seen of Palin, she is a rather unintelligent, yet psychotic person. God help us all if she gets a shot at being the worlds' most powerful person.
