Re: Erasure's next hits compilation: Let's Spoil PSB's Big Day!
Sorry but I think Andy Bell telling the world he has HIV is hardly going to promote an Erasure album. And wasn't this interview done in a Danish magazine or something? Maybe it helped sell a few more copies there!
If anything couldn't this have the reverse effect? Maybe that is why they didn't get the Brit? I can talk a load of speculative made up bollocks too you know.
And great sources for the stories, fazed.com and deancyberspace (wtf?), I bet they too a bit of finding!!!! Great bit of promotion that is for Erasure I am sure! For all the world to see!
You don't like the group, Fine no problem but is that good enough to say they don't deserve a Brit award? Especially going on some of the things you are! And the album being released around the PSB award to promote it? Never heard such crap! We need more of your highly accurate an intelligent (not at all misleading!) stats and facts to find the next worthy Brit winner! I think chosing the winner based on a poll on this forum must be the most accurate!

"Is true. I did say that..."

Now I can see why Neil and Chris loathe him so much. The man is an absolute joke. Did he actually go to school? He seems somewhat lacking in the education department.
Bell-End is the sort that gives gays a very bad name. No wonder so many of them have turned that backs on him.
And in many ways it was inevitable he would get HIV. I haven't forgotten the interview he gave to Smash Hits in 1987 when asked of his most exciting experience.
The classy bird that he is replied with "Taken from behind in the kitchen with butter."
Of course, oil-based products like that damage and weaken condoms. Though it's clear safe sex was the last thing on his mind with that irresponsible remark.
All this at a time when the country was in the grip of the AIDS hysteria too. An utter, foolish, lowest common denominator trollop. What goes around, er, cums around...

Of course it is. It's a valid opinion. An opinion that you keep saying everyone is entitled to.JSDOUVRES wrote: but is that good enough to say they don't deserve a Brit award?

Endless ranting?, Am I not allowed an opinion on other people's opinion, or not in your honest opinion? (That's so funny it could have been written by you!)
I disagree with some of the things certain people (coincidentally Erasure haters!) are saying about the group, but don't care if people like them or not! It's not about that! Lot's of groups I don't like but if other people do then good for them! Or I could always write a load of made up crap and speculation just for the sake of it!

Re: Erasure's next hits compilation: Let's Spoil PSB's Big Day!
anyway on a related note Erasure are writing their own soundtrack to a well known Russian classic silent picture. We are fortunate to have access to Andys' lyrics for the famous Odessa Steps sequence - "People are being shot, I guess it's very sad,
those naughty naughty soldiers don't they feel bad?, people being massacred, it makes me ooooooh so mad" Behind him a analogue synth burbles away complete with 'melodies that would put Brian Wilson to shame" Copyright s t e f a n o
next up the synth pop cover opus. We're D E S P E R A T E, we're desperate,
your fame from which we'll try to gain,
that's the price we'll pay,
I heard it from HMV we're yet again in the sale

For a dead person, he is very prolific. He's even managed a #1 single!Flaffer wrote:you ever heard of Tupac ?
Maybe he should be in contention for the "Outstanding Contribution To Music" Brit award if overseas acts are eligible. He won't get it, though, because he hasn't worked with Madonna.

Because I hate Erasure, like you!!!!!!Loins Of London wrote:And the reason you joined this Pet Shop Boys forum is?JSDOUVRES wrote: I disagree with some of the things certain people (coincidentally Erasure haters!) are saying about the group
No but seriously I like both groups pretty much the same although I collect PSB stuff much more, or is that not OK for you. Maybe you could start a poll up of who I should like the best!!! Or is that just kids stuff?
Anyway going by what you think shouldn't you be on the Madonna forum or do you like her the same as PSB like me with Erasure? In fact I also like Kraftwerk, OMD, Depeche Mode, New Order, Level 42 etc so maybe I should leave this place. PSB or nothing is it? In fact with all the other groups I like Ill check the forum rules to see if such things are allowed!!!
Weren't you banned once, or have you turned over a new leaf? But hey, you will be more popular with some people now that you have admitted you hate Erasure so much. Well done you!

He did, actually, on at least one track, an unreleased version of a song from 1994's Bedtime Stories album. They were dating at the same time:Fugitive1979 wrote: Maybe he should be in contention for the "Outstanding Contribution To Music" Brit award if overseas acts are eligible. Oh, as for the Brits being opened up, may I respectfully refer the honourable gentleman to the post I made some moments ago?

Apparently Tupac killed himself to promote his new album, To get the sympathy vote, and it worked! He never turned up to get his Brit for outstanding non-Uk artist though and nobody knows why. No wonder Andy Bell got aids on purpose and it's becoming clearer now why Kurt Curbain shot himself in the head!Undertaker wrote:At least there is someone more desperate for publicity than BellFugitive1979 wrote:For a dead person, he is very prolific. I am well aware of the thread you started, which is why I wrote the line you have quoted me on.
