Pretentious c***! Who do they think they are?

A group of Girls Aloud's stature doesn't need to lower themselves to supporting w*** like Coldplay.
Chris Martin keeps talking about they're his "favourite girl band". I think he thinks that makes him look interesting, or kooky or some other thing that he obviously isn't.

He's always making those kind of 'wacky substitute geography teacher' comments.

There's a lot of talk on PJ about it missing the top10 completely. Surely, it's too early too tell?

Or, perhaps this is the curse of PSB striking Girls Aloud. :(

There's a good chance TLK will miss the top 10. It was only #29 in yesterday's chart and physically released today. It's also not making huge progress on iTunes yet. That said, The Saturdays climbed from #27 to #6 following the physical release of Issues so it might still make the necessary leap.

The marketing for this track was very strange. It was promoted far too early and has already spent several weeks in the chart, albeit a low position. Accumalate the sales together though and it wouldn't be far off what they would normally sell in it's first week of release.

Kris, how many units do you need to sell these days for a top ten? Is it still around the 10 - 12,000 mark?

I think they used it to shift copies of the album over Christmas.

The album version is currently #15 on i-Tunes. The Radio edit is way off the radar.

And The Saturdays only seem to exist to make Girls Aloud seem better!

They don't make them seem better, because Girls Aloud are better.

The Saturdays are guff.

The Saturdays are great. They're not orange, don't have lollipop-heads and never beat up immigrant workers.

I'd say that is because that stage is yet to come, but I don't think they will be around long enough.

Also they don't shy away from the fake tan, either.

I wouldnt be surprised if it misses the top10. Record companies have to get their head around the immediacy of pop - I've banged on about it before - but all the real fans will already have the song from the album and, in my opinion, the hype around TLK has already peaked. I made several 'best of 08' lists when the physical release wasnt until the 12th.

Once a track is done and ready for promotion/hype/marketing - make it available to buy with b-sides/extra tracks as a download.
I fear "Love etc" may suffer the same fate. It will inevitable leak or be heard weeks before the March 16 release.
I say - build the hype then drop the track to buy on the same day. Its not hard is it?

yeah I agree I think everyones heard it, and they might have lost the momentum on the tune by now.
I remember before the girls aloud CD came out and loving kind leaked it seemed everyone was just crazy for it. but obviously since then people have had lots of time hearing it on youtube when it was then just an album track.

now its going to be a single an everyones probably over it by now.

According to this forum it's at #10 after Monday sales http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=58077
I guess we can kiss goodbye to #1 then! :|
But it feels like the flight

Single sales are really healthy at the moment. I don't have the figure for Let It Rock by Kevin Rudolf feat. Lil Wayne (#10 on Sunday) but The Saturdays sold 23,643 units at #6 and Coolio sold 8,407 at #31 so I'm guessing it's probably currently somewhere between 16k and 18k at the moment.

The Loving Kind is indeed #10 in this week's first midweek update. It may still climb further as the physical release is a day behind on sales.
