Strange job, music critic, for someone who takes 50 listens to really get in to an album.

I am waiting til the album is released to make my own judgements on it. Like the new Morrissey can be donwloaded, but I would rather buy the cd.

But if it's your job then you need to be very familiar with a body of work before you can make an informed comment. People would complain if a critic listened to an album a handful of times and then made rash comments!

Personally, I can usually tell after a few listens whether I like something, but if I was reviewing something I would give it a lot more effort than just a couple of plays. If I am listening for pleasure, I can be as fickle as I like!

I have the new Morrissey, you should download it before buying it. I will not be getting it, and have already deleated it from my PC.

I love a couple of songs on there, but others I am decidedly 'meh :| ' about.
I'm with you on that. I enjoy Very, but I don't love it, I don't cherish it in the way I do Behaviour, Actually, Please, Introspective and (erm) Bilingual (which I love).

Very is really quite disposable and there's almost too much of it for there to be an arc to the album...

Agreed. I much prefer the albums you've listed above. I LOVE Yesterday When I Was Mad, though. 8)

Not at all, I listened to each track a good 10 - 15 times and they just suck.

It's easily the best thing he's done since Vauxhall.

Weird lyrics, I must say. PSB have gone hetero.
