I cant remember the last time I made a comment on this forum, but its a pretty damn decent single. Was very catchy immediately- well see how long it has staying power on my gym listening playlist but Ive listened to it multiple times already today. Love some of the lyrics- "daddy paying the bills"- hahaha so true for this town and the Coasties i see wandering around!

I like it. I think it's quite non-PSB - take Neil's vocal off and it wouldn't sound much like anything they've done previously. I'm pleased it's quite moody too - I was dreading some Very-lite hyper-pop from 2 50-year old men - no thanks.

Hmm.... Not sure what to make of it. Could be a grower. Is everyone going off the low quality youtube post or has it been leaked in high quality ? I've only heard the youtube version and its slightly underwhelming upon first listen.

weird thing is,on youtube it sounded low quality, I use one of those youtube capturing programs and when I downloaded it and coverted the flv file it suddenly went high quality.dont know why.I didnt use the fmt command.

havent even botherd checking the usual p2p sources because I'm happy with what I got.

Heard a HQ quality version of the song now and have to say, so far, I'm quite underwhelmed. I think Xenomania have stifled some of the idiosyncrasies that make PSB what they are. The production feels quite flat, generic and on the whole feels slightly under-produced. Maybe its a grower but I certainly expected a much lusher and aggressive sounding song from some of the early reviews. However, in terms of massive hit potential, I don't think Xenomania have delivered on this one.

The quality isn't great on there, no. The first few times I heard it, I thought the last line of the chorus sounded like,
"(Don't have to be)
Beautiful- bloody hell!"

And now that just keeps popping into my head whenever I listen to it.

I think the Production is just fine.

Quality is good. The song structure is simple and so is the orchestral arrangement. That makes you feel production is weak - but I don't think that's a proper term. You are used to listen the classic more complicated PSB arrangements. But it is alright the way it is because it makes the song easy to learn. This was intended to be a commercial pop release, remember. Xenomania did the job well.

I disagree. It's beautifully produced, sparse when it needs to be, lush when the string pads kick in. Great bass sounds Clean, crisp and clear.

It's f*cking awesome - their best lead single since Can you forgive her? It's everything people have wanted them to do for ages - minimal and electronic but also incredibly insistent too. I was expecting something a lot more like Go West (because of the call-and-response) but it's a very pleasant surprise how cool and understated it is. It sounds a bit like a cross between Can you forgive her? and Flamboyant.
