Well, I love Neil's high voice. What other singer can do that? It's kind of a signature. I love his lower voice, too. Actually, what's there not to like about psb? : )

Re: Love Etc
Someone has to record it as it´s a marvellous occasion.

catchy enough but not brilliant.
the shouting choir reminds me of something in between the shouting in doctoring the tardis and tubthumping.

me too. its my favorite range of his studio singing. I dont like the birthday boy style.le petit corbusier wrote:Well, I love Neil's high voice. What other singer can do that? It's kind of a signature. I love his lower voice, too. Actually, what's there not to like about psb? : )
he's also got a really bautiful falsetto but he hardly ever uses it except on rare occassions like closer to heaven, nightlife or on certain words in certain songs likebreak4love..."you dont have to wonder why".
he should do it more.

Re: Love Etc
Thanks to a post by the Gardener you all may have heard of the German radio station SWR 3. They are strong, long-time supporters of PSB. Consequentially they presented Love etc as new entry in their charts today. We all are able to vote the song by 22 pm (gmt +1) tonight. Here's the corresponding link:
http://www.swr3.de/musik/charts/-/id=47 ... index.html
Let's usurp no.1 for our heros!!
Cheers.

Re: Love Etc
It is "Kartoffeln" by the way
Anyway SWR3 is quite a popular radio station in Germany and as has already been mentioned they are one of the few big stations still supporting the PSB (they even play older songs like A red letter day or Home and dry once in a while)
So voting for Love etc. wouldn't be a bad idea for those of you who get along with German words like "Abstimmen" (vote),
"Name" (
), "Straße" (street), "PLZ/Ort" (zipcode/city)...

Current Love,etc stats:
This thread: 18,170 views -- my oh my .... we seem entranced!
YouTube: 47,954 views. Apparently we're not alone. **
** Just out of curiousity -- I click on the link & listen repeatedly. It seems to only count once, so the actual number of "listens" is probably quite higher!

I love Love etc! Absolutely brilliant. PSB nailed another great tune!
I know is going to sound silly, but I adore the way Neil sing that "oh" right before "don't have to be"...I keep listening to it...I'm going mad!

Also this part (especially as the melody "changes" here):
"...than the Gerhard Richter hanging on your wall
a chauffeur-driven limousine on call
to drive your wife and lover to a white tie ball
You need more, you need more, you need more
You need more, you need loooooooove"

Re: Love Etc
I was thinking today, driving away from work after being told they need some of us to take career breaks or reduce our hours in order for the company to survive, that the lyrics of Love, etc are so bang-up-to-date with what's going on.
Everyone was racing around competing with each other for the biggest house, best holidays, best cars, up until the recession hit. Love, etc gives you something to be cheery about - we don't need all that stuff, we just need leeeeerve.
I adore the way Neil says 'love' on this track - sexy for once, reminds me of how Jon Marsh might sing it.
I was also thinking that PSB could do a great cover of Hello by The Beloved.
