Darwin is the prophet of the atheists.Needless to say that evolutionists adhere to yet another surrogate religion called Darwinism. When Darwin wrote his book, he knew nothing about the complexity of a single human cell! Nor did he write anything about the origin of "life" but only about "species." We know that evolution has yet to be proven because none of you can tell us how life emerged out of nothing(something that goes against all we know in biology). You pretend to know it all only to obfuscate the fact that you too have to take a leap of faith and BELIEVE that somehow miraculously life came to be out of dead matter. You never managed to prove how life could have emerged out of nothing. NEVER! The Miller-Urey experiment was a complete failure. I'm not asking anybody to believe in creationism. All I'm asking for is for a bit more modesty in the light of the fact that evolution has many loopholes and assumptions that no evolutionist can explain but only believe in. Carbon-data is unreliable as it too is based on assumptions that cannot be proven. And many times, inconvenient excavations are suppressed and hushed up.
So what is your problem with the religious right? Because I don't agree with the areligious left? You are as convinced about evolution as I about creationism. You simply do not want to accept ethics that come from God because you think that your own rules are better. You consider yourself great guys and yet when you look at your lives, you see how short you fall of God's rules. Thus, you'd rather dismiss the notion of God as a fairytale. I too fall short of God's rules, but I know that Jesus gave his life for my sins and this is absolute grace. I used to be an atheist and Darwinist but at some point it all made no sense to me anymore.
Yes, God is the foundation of my life and not the limited human ken. Can you explain to me the beginning of the universe out of nothing on simple materialistic cause and effect terms? I don't have to because to me God is eternity, a notion that goes beyond our human minds. But you are left with this conundrum that only shows up your ignorance. The more you think about eternity, the more it drives you mad!
Like I said, Darwinism has not been proven beyond reasonable doubt. You go on about how you are about science and we about God, but you abuse Darwinism to mock Christians as me. Like I said, both Darwinism and creationism can co-exist. You cannot disprove one with the other because they are based on different axioms. The only thing you can say about them is that they are incompatible. But it's impossible to argue against one paradigm with another one that has a different starting point. I don't want Darwinism banned from school curricula. Both creationism and Darwinism should be taught as two major concepts of the origin of species.
May God bless you and help you see the truth.

See, Gregf? It's all about "believing" in evolution.

I have tried for many years to evolve a certain part of my body by helping it adapt to new environments... and it has failed, I'll admit.
If it didn't work for my ****, it won't work for your brain - so we have to accept that some of you will remain retarded...
Religion can't prove ANYTHING ! - at least the frog in front of me can prove it existed !!

This looks like a "Daily Star" compendium edition...

(For those too scared to come to the USA, the Daily Star is a rag newspaper you buy at supermarket checkouts and that runs stories such as "Elvis spotted on the moon" and "Princess Di was a blancmange" and "Muslim fundamentalist sees some sense" etc)

penis goes into vagina

anyone who thinks that concept compiled itself across the boards for man and creature to join two different sexual organs meant for each other out of random luck is no different than the religious who argue against evolution. its a hedge.

so,they prove evolution of the species. thats just swell ,so what.

the people who think evolution does away with intelligent design are actually arguing against themselves. as they are so content to show us the complication of the evolutionary system in motion..... they are so detailed about micro and macro and evolutionary steps and yet........they switch gears and want us to believe at the beggining of time its starting point ....was dumb.

they'll never get over that hill. ever.

Ali, what if Evolution is part of God's design ?
Rejecting it would be akin to rejecting God's wisdom.

My advice is believe nothing but evidence.

It IS NOT random luck. That's the whole point of evolution. Every minor change that works improves the survivability of a species.

Looking at your example, I'll try an eplaination off the top of my head. We could think that early eggs are laid outside the female's body and left to develop themselves. Some species like frogs go towards suvivability in numbers and evolve to produce loads of eggs. Birds and reptiles try to put the eggs in a safe place and sometimes guard them. Mammals evolve to protect their eggs from harm by keeping them inside the female. As time goes by, males who have a better system of getting their sperm inside the female are the ones who survive, hence penises gradually develop into the state they are today.

Also, the reproductive system is not perfect. Testicles must be outside the body to regulate temperature. If god had designed them then why are they not better protected? They are after all crucial to life! Your argument is more full of holes that swiss cheese, Glen!
so,they prove evolution of the species. thats just swell ,so what.
So you accept that evolution is proved. What's your first point about then?

So in your mind it's more sensible to suggest that there was some all-powerful being who must be more complex than any creature alive today on earth who just made life spring from nowhere? And where exactly do you think that this magical creature sprang from?
We are star stuff which has taken its destiny into its own hands. The loom of time and space works the most astonishing transformations of matter. We are a way for the universe to know itself.

us humans and creatures are trapped in nature. as such we are trapped in the concept of needing and having a beggining and an end.

we have no idea what a God is. no concept at all. its possible anything worthy of being called a deity is outside this. we take for granted that a moose cant understand the concept of, say ,a computer. we do this because we know the moose just doesnt have the brain capable to allow it. why is it so surprising we arent unlike the moose in the larger picture of the universe when the object in question isnt a computer, its equivelent for us is a God?

the idea that the concept of reproductive organs meant for each other compiled themselves from an mindless explosion of energy, is the equivelent of all the parts of a car being in a park area and a whirlwind hits and it compiles itself correctly.

I have no problem with the theory of evolution. but the idea a detonation of energy compiles into order millions of species of animals, planets, suns, universes, plants that have a purposeful act of reproductive organs meant for each other,is impossible to believe because it flies in the face of science's idea things make sense.

Going back to the obvious, more serious comment, Fugitive made about Wasps ;-

They do have a point. Don't you find it hilarious how a tiny little creature puts fear into the largest of men? Flapping their arms around when a little Wasp is nearby  Wasps are entertainment value alone.

Even if you accept that premise, surely a being that created those things requires an even greater leap of faith? The creator himself must have required an even bigger, more improable whirlwind to compile him correctly, since he indeed must be greater than the things he creates.

Anyway Glenn, reproductive organs didn't "compile themselves from a mindless explosion of energy". They evolved at least 380 million years ago in fish. Note that sexual reproduction is much older than this, but if we're talking about reproduction inside the organism - "mating" and organisms becoming pregnant - then that's the earliest date we can trace it back to.

Anyway, like all evolutionary adaptations, sex did evolve randomly, and it persists because it gives an evolutionary advantage. You ought to read a basic evolutionary theory book, it will help you understand how this all happened, and why evolution is a fact (even the Pope believes these days, ha).

once again I am not disputing evolution. christians make issues of things that dont need to be issues.

when I say reproductions compiled themselves from a mindless explosion of energy I am not talking physically. I am talking about the concept. the amazing idea that the concept of 2 creatures joining and inserting one organ into another that enables them to procreate into more ....was able to knock itself together from disorder.which everyone admits the big bang was.

it follows simple logic. explosions breed chaos. not order.

where a deity came from is impossible to debate in this because we dont know what it is to even debate it. certainly not if even if we are to guess it would be outside nature ie needing a beggining and an end. we can however guess the likelyhood of an intelligent designer. which is at the heart of this argument.
