As far as I know, the CDs won't be released in Spain, you can only buy the single in the spanish iTunes.le petit corbusier wrote:Couldn't find it yesterday in Barcelona...

That's really sad... I've always bought every single from any of the shops on Tallers street. Hopefully they will import some on Revolver records. Yesterday found plenty of I'm with stupid singles, though. xDLleonard Pler wrote:As far as I know, the CDs won't be released in Spain, you can only buy the single in the spanish iTunes.le petit corbusier wrote:Couldn't find it yesterday in Barcelona...

Also not in Spain ?! That's one of the biggest PSB markets.Lleonard Pler wrote:As far as I know, the CDs won't be released in Spain, you can only buy the single in the spanish iTunes.
If I understand it correctly, the song "Gin And Jag" is NOT part of any download package. Therefore it's not possible for PSB fans in - for instance - the Netherlands and Spain to obtain that song in a legal way, other than importing the cd-singles from the UK or so. Insane.

First, this is one of many examples showing how often Erasure's name pop up on this forum from the people who disrespect them so much. Fair enough but don't blame pulse or me or whoever that there's us namedroping Erasure and that we start the stupid discussions. You call and you get the response.
Second, it's funny but in fact hypocritical how the same facts are used differently by the same members here. Example: the distribution problem is a valid excuse for PSB's lower chart placing while in Erasure's case: they're shit. Or how about....PSB don't get enough airplay, exposure. Explanation: bloody radio, mtv etc. don't see PSB's brilliance. Erasure: nah, they're shit so nobody plays them. I could go on but those who have brain and are honest see what I mean.
Third, physical singles are dead and we must sadly accept it, but if Love etc. enters the UK singles chart somewhere in top 20-30 it should be considered as a good result. Don't worry though, Yes will do a lot better chartwise.
And finally, Undertaker: why in the h*ll do you make a big point of Erasure's last download only single missing the UK chart while PSB's Integral ( download only as well ) made to impressive 197 position?

Oh please. You only need to look at his last few posts to see exactly where he's coming from. No point in complaining if other people recognize these patterns of passive aggressive posting and just start calling a spade a spade.tuff enuff wrote:Fair enough but don't blame pulse or me or whoever that there's us namedroping Erasure and that we start the stupid discussions.
None of those statements are mutually exclusive. Erasure don't chart because they're shit. PSB virtually never chart outside the Top 20 for a quarter century and yet here we see the effects of well-documented distribution problems for a group whose sales are primarily physical.Second, it's funny but in fact hypocritical how the same facts are used differently by the same members here. Re: Love etc. midweeks.
Greetings,
With the kooky chart rules and the absence of We're All Criminals Now on physical format (plus the publicity it seems to be getting in its own right) is there any possibility of it cracking the Top 100, like a few of the PSB classics did after the Brits?
Retro.

OK Erasure are shit for you etc, but since PSB's chart impact and sales have also dropped a good deal the last decade, it must make them at least a bit shit too going by your thinking. Don't you think so? Or since it's the "holy" PSB you're eager to adjust the facts so it doesn't ruin your vision of them and uphold your dislike for Erasure? Good for you that it makes you feel better but clever? Not. The thing is that both PSB and Erasure often suffer from the same adversities in addiction to their "baggage" and the problem of both groups not being so succesive anymore is more compound.patrick wrote:

Neither was Erasure's Always 2009. It was only a part of the singles collection and a remix cd. Since you could download it, it could chart in the singles chart. But back to Integral, if it wasn't a single, what was it? It had a video, a vinyl and a download. It also charted in the singles chart at the "respectful" 197. So?patrick wrote: Integral wasn't a single.

When you eventually get down off your hobby horse you'll realise that I haven't even claimed half the things you suggest. The simple version of the point I made was that in attempting to defend Erasure, Stephano's posts seem to be having the opposite effect. I wouldn't want him in charge of my PR that's for sure.
From what I recall Pulse tried to play the PR card in his reasoning of why Erasure weren't doing as well. I pointed out in the off topic section that PR is only as good as the rec company and the band members, and doesn't exclusively explain why a band doesn't perform well in the charts. Now you can try all sorts of things to measure this, and all kinds of targetted marking and focus groups, etc but sometimes, sometimes, the song might not be much cop and the buyers just don't like it. It can happen with Erasure or the Pet Shop Boys and doesn't always have anything to do with poor PR. I for one have not suggested that PSB poor performance is because of bad PR. As you know they're getting loads of promotion so far and so it doesn't always translate that this will equal success. So even if Erasure were on TV 24/7, I doubt they'd perform any better. So not you or anyone can go about bleating that the main reason Erasure don't do as well is because the marketing dept at Mute is rather thin and poor because this is BS frankly.
I don't actually have a major issue with Erasure. As I've said many times ad nauseum, they've made some questionable songs in the past few years and haven't always had their finger on the pulse, for want of a better description, but that doesn't mean that I and others should have a sense of humour bypass refuse to share the odd joke. I don't understand this slight undertone and general school of thought that suggests you aren't much of a fan if your support in a band isn't unwavering and you can't criticise certain decisions and musical directions.
In all fairness one of the main reasons that stringent Erasure fans get a raw deal on here is because they can't take a joke, they come across as arrogant and defensive, they insult anyone who disagrees with them and they are unable to stare the facts in the face that Erasure don't perform as well because they don't write 'em they way they used to. I think much of the slagging off with Erasure can sometimes degenerate a bit and clouds any real, dare I say, intelligent discussion. If the likes of Stephano, Pulse and yourself, were able to occasionally let your hair down a bit, you might not get the reactions you do.
Oh and if you want to talk about hypocrisy, just pop over to Erasure's 'official' forum and witness the spineless and childish assualts PSB get in a sub-forum supposedly dedicated to the boys and you'll see that hypocrisy is a two way street, dear.
