Careful everyone, this is actually listed as FRIDAY NIGHT on channel4's site, just past midnight (technically making it Saturday!).

PSB's actual set was 23 minutes, I think. So including breaks etc, I think they'll have to chop it up a bit if they are going to fit LB in too.

OMG....saw myself (side-on) a few times for about 3 seconds each time in the Smirnoff audience !! Saw Ellie too she was standing beside me at the front! It was a FAB night......the Guys came across well

Yes, I saw both of us as well and Nikki standing on the other side of me in one shot too! The shots of me were slightly weird but oh well, haha! There's a close-up of me saying the "would I write a book..." line. It was a great night and their performance was captured well!

This autumn on BBC Four:

A documentary about the British synth pop scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s, featuring contributions from Neil Tennant, Vince Clarke and Gary Numan will also be shown.

Synth Britannia

In the late Seventies small pockets of electronic artists such as The Human League, Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle were inspired by Kraftwerk and J G Ballard to dream of the sound of the future against the backdrop of bleak, high-rise Britain.

Gary Numan's 1979 appearance on Top Of The Pops heralded the invention of synthpop, which would provide the soundtrack as Britain entered a new, ruthless era in the Eighties.

Depeche Mode, four lads from Basildon, came to embody the new sound, while post-punk bands such as Ultravox, Soft Cell, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark and Yazoo took the synth from the pages of the NME and onto the front cover of Smash Hits.

By 1983 the Pet Shop Boys and New Order were pointing to where the future of electronic music lay – in dance.

Contributors to Synth Britannia include Philip Oakey, Vince Clarke, Martin Gore, Bernard Sumner, Gary Numan and Neil Tennant.

Looks interesting. They're doing a Metal Britannia as well to even things out. No set air date yet, afaik.

Here's something new, I think:

Pet Shop Boys will perform "Did You See Me Coming?" on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on Friday, September 4th. (source)

Jimmy Fallon parodied Neil in "Saturday Night Live" in 2001, by the way.
