Based on the Hans Christian Anderson story of the same name, the performance opens in London on March 17th and it's accompanying soundtrack, written and performed by the Pet Shop Boys, arrives three days earlier.

It is actually rather a good interview. They talk about the ballet obviously, but also the charts, Eurovision ( "a thankless task") and a little about the next album. They have written - but not recorded - "some pop, some dance, some more introspective, miserable stuff for the older market - the manics, the depressives!"

Chris also says, rather intriguing, "Maybe we will be asked to do the Olympics ceremony or something, who knows?".

Interestingly, one of the guests is a certain Richard Coles (now the Reverend Coles) formerly of the Communards, and he who added his piano skills to 'What Keeps Mankind Alive'.
