back to kylie chatter..

She may be part of the Diva's Live 2004 show

That will be the only chance to revive whatever is left of BL in the USA

After the Sparks gig and party on Sat night, we went to a transvestite club in the basement of Charlie's Bar in the City, as ex forum member Spaceboy was doing his drag act, with great sweet souly covers of Boy George and Will Young.

The next performer was a Kylie lookalike (who actually really looked the part - same build and buckteeth) and during On A Night Like This spotted me on a stool at the edge of the dancefloor and kept stroking my chin while singing to me.

And I'm very ashamed to report that during Better The Devil You Know 'Kylie' handed me the mic for an impromptu 'duet' during the chorus.

Thing is, the things I'm embarrassed about was that I knew the words to the bloody song in the first place, and that in the dressing room after the gig I found out at close quarters that this 'Kylie' was indeed all woman

And when have the American public ever had good taste for long periods? Blondie still mean very much in Europe and Australasia. Despite them coming from NYC, the USA took a helluvalong time to learn how to appreciate the talents of Debs and co

Hmmmm....

BB duet's on a kylie song, follow the singer, has a 'Crying Game' shock(?) moment and she actually gave a clue too by choosing to sing 'Better the Devil you know' ! so cool

Have chris or neil ever done drag ??

Not so. They were very much top of the charts -or at any rate constantly on the radio- from 1978-1980, before they burned out and dissolved.
I don't see how people are meant to show keen enthusiasm for a band that took 20 years to reform. And Deb's solo efforts were of.. uneven quality, let's say.

as much as I love Kylie, I don't think that she would suit the DIVA line-up, I mean, mixing with the likes of Celine Dion, Cyndi Lauper, Whitney Houston, Cher, Gladys Knight etc....I don't think so. I think she can do ALOT better on her own thankyou very much !
