Re: Reissues project
I don't buy into all this "remastered vinyl" claptrap. You're basically paying £25 for a large black CD

Actually that's rather neat. Does it leave much space for the booklet? Glad I'm not the only Icehouse fan out there.

I doubt it.miserabalism wrote: ↑Sun 18 Jun 2017, 7:31 pm My question (and my dilemma!) is, those of you that already own the first six albums on the original Further Listening releases, are you planning on re-purchasing them again in their "2017 remastered" form?
Re: Reissues project
I'll be streaming during release via Spotify and will wait for the box set.
Will buy the CD edition and might get tempted to get the vinyl also... Even though I don't have a record player. Not the most sensible decision but hey ho!

you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

I noticed that too. I wonder why? The leaked demo sounds as complete as any other demo.

No. I'm hoping they might see fit to record a new version of Little black dress given the issues with clearance for the demo.Greendrake wrote: ↑Tue 20 Jun 2017, 6:58 amThat I doubt. Have they ever released a demo of a song that has not been released in its finished form, either by them or another artist the demo was given to?retrofuturist wrote: ↑Tue 20 Jun 2017, 2:06 am ... which they could still have done if they called it "Only Love (Demo)"

Prices have dropped on Amazon. CD's still a bit more expensive than the official shop although difference in shipping costs may compensate, but vinyl is now quite a bit cheaper.

Re: Reissues project
The source material requirements for vinyl mastering are different than for digital formats. Masters for CD can be brick wall limited to just below zero dB full scale without introducing distortion. You can't feed a vinyl cutting lathe a full scale source without serious sonic consequences -so the source material needs to be adjusted to take this into account. Hence the vinyl version will sound different (as opposed to subjectively "better") to the digital remaster.tottenhammattspurs wrote: ↑Mon 19 Jun 2017, 3:52 pm I don't buy into all this "remastered vinyl" claptrap.
