Album closers / final track - do you have a favourite?
So Long LIve Vinyl describes Wedding as "a slice of prime Chris Lowe giddiness" (viewtopic.php?p=586393#p586393)
So starting to think I may enjoy this track after all. Since I'm actually pretty tolerant of slightly wayward/oddball album sendoffs (You Choose, Leopardskin, Legacy, Footsteps - all fine by me)
@geowayne has there ever been a poll or ranking for album closers? I did try to search, but it's an awkward thing to search for. Polls on here only allow 10 options, so I guess PSB albums have outgrown phpBB
Pretty clear to me that half the time they don't aim to finish on a high (such as Vocal or Go West). Rather they seem to like to leave you hanging with an unresolved/kooky feeling. Into Thin Air does that to me.
I'm guessing Kings Cross is the strongest track by far, but Vocal would get a strong rating? Go West too, but it's maybe worn thin these days? Oh and lets not forget Jealousy - whoa!
Any particular favourites, anyone?

Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.

A blues would be in B flat, pain defining wisdom,
but the soul is in the high hat, programmed in the system.

Re: Album closers / final track - do you have a favourite?
Great topic! I was under the impression that they tend to close albums with their weakest tracks, but I realize now that this was mostly because of Saturday night forever and Footsteps ;-D
I keep falling in and out of love with Legacy and Requiem, so I guess those two also reinforced at times my negative impression.
But now that you guys are listing such absolute gems as King's Cross and Jealousy, wow! And even in more recent albums, I adore You choose, Go West, Integral, Into thin air... And even from the EPs: The forgotten child, One thing leads to another... Hard to select 5 and number them! A playlist of these closing tracks turns out to be a selection of some of their more mature material, who would have thought!
