How's Brexit working out for your country?

Christ. This left-vs-right BS is mind numbing. You can't name a successful policy that wasn't at heart a progressive one. Everything else has been a waste.

Greetings,

Here we go again. Neil has stated in a rather vague and preliminary way what it's about, from his side. I see no benefit in anyone quarreling over differences in their own political perspectives. Surely we can wait until we find out what the lyrics are, and then maybe have a meaningful and civilized conversation? Or, maybe not.

For now, let's just enjoy that there's an EP coming out and that these lost tunes will have the opportunity to come to the surface.

On a side note, this is the first time I remember an Annually book being "re-promoted"... normally it's sold out before release without that. Could it be that postage costs and living expenses are hitting hard, or might we be expecting Lost to become a multi-format release, worthy of promotion in itself, like when Agenda was pressed as a 12" EP?

Retro. :)

I'm not getting into the whole left and right generalisations. All I'll say is that society has become completely polarised, largely because of the reinforcing nature of social media which is killing centrist politics, encourages extreme positions to flourish but with no genuine debate. I genuinely think it may destroy society.

I would love for Lost to get a 12" release and even a video for The lost room.

This is so disingenuous. The myth of centrism can only work in total ignorance of the Overton Window, and requires us to pretend that equality and universal healthcare are somehow the mirror image of discrimination and fascism. Hitler and Churchill were not the same, and the centrist position was not smack dab in the middle of the two.

Last year's Annually sold poorly.
I bet that's the reason why they're promoting it this time around.

Er, Churchill was right wing, not left wing at all. But he wasn’t a fascist (at least during the period of Hitler’s rise to power and the war that followed). Modern Centrism in Europe is well to the left of Churchill, mostly because of what came after him, eg. the welfare state and the NHS, which are are now solid centrist institutions in the UK (I’m aware they still look left wing to many over in the USA, but they’re now just “normal” over here, with even right wing politicians scared of being publicly outed as wanting to do away with or diminish them).

Anyway, looking forward to the EP. Sounding more and more like the “dark techno” tracks they talked about years ago.

I didn't say he was left wing. I'm pointing out the sheer idiocy of believing there's a centrist perspective between "Let's kill all the Jews" and "No".

I never said that extreme left-wingers and extreme right-wingers can find a centrist ground. I'm talking about SOCIETY finding its centre-ground so that extremism doesn't flourish.

Yes, but only one of the sides is "extreme" (mostly). There is nothing extreme about wanting to save the planet, to get rid of racism, to have LGBTQ people live freely, to stop gun violence, to have reproductive rights, etc. There is just not a lot of "extremism' on the left. Sure, there is some, but nothing to rival the right (at least in the US).

I agree with you. 99% of extremism is from the right but it's not perceived as extremism because it's been normalised.

Oh, that is idiotic, for sure.

When do we get some lyrics to discuss?

This notion of "Dark Techno". I really dont think they have all that many songs that would be considered dark techno, at least with words, I dont count remixes....but I would consider these to be examples of past PSB dark techno style production

the white dress
inner sanctum
My girl
Cosmic fringes
we're the petshopboys
Decide
The former enfant terrible

Agreed. I think it's expected that there'll be a CD now, and without that, many people won't pay the price.

Even a CD issue of Muzik or Burning The Heather would have probably done the trick if they didn't want to put out anything new.
