I saw ALIP last night, sometimes with tears in my eyes for so much beautiful moments.

Fantastic!! All the extra bits are good.....I am trying to imagine some of the interview pieces like:

1. A two year old Chris on the dancefloor

2. A young Neil wearing women's wedge shoes going for a job interview

I wish there were pictures!!

That would have been a challenge. I was interviewed for two full hours, and I suspect they spent a similar amount of time with all of those interviewed -- and no doubt a lot more with Chris and Neil themselves.

I can see it now -- a DVD boxed set: Pet Shop Boys: A Life in Pop - The Complete Interviews (Including Flubs and Retakes). I'd like a copy of that myself!

My own chief regret: that we didn't reshoot that bit where I'm talking about "Where the Streets Have No Name (I Can't Take My Eyes Off You)" and I mispronounce the word "spit's" as "spit'sh."

I hang my head in shame every time I hear that.

Excellent DVD! Mine also appears to jump during the piece about Being Boring so it must be a general glitch. However, I am also having great trouble getting the extras to play. It played first time round but now it doesn't play at all. Anyone else with similar problems?

I would be particularly interested in hearing more from Trevor Horn and the guy from EMI, both of whom I'm sure would have more anecdotes to tell, that only they would know about.

They could have cut out the bits from Brandon Flowers, Jake Shears, Robbie Williams and the guy from Keane for all I care.

And yeah, a picture of Neil going to that job interview at the British Museum would have been interesting

And a full length version of 'Man on the television'. Has anyone bothered to type out the lyrics for that, BTW?

I bought this mostly for the extra videos in DVD format.
But I will watch it sometime.

Then would have had PopArt and PopLife. Follows through for the videos.

Wonderful.....after waiting a week to pick this up from work and a mammoth three hours of viewing that was a much better version than what C4 broadcast (a bit greedy of me - being a fan).....at least Very and Bilingual got talked about more.....some funny moments and great to see some performances which I've never seen before

Didn't realise that was geowayne in the DVD...well done!

I've just had a thought this maybe a dual layer disc (so that they can fit everything on it!) which can cause a slight pause / jump mid way through....you get it on most DVDs in which its usually placed in a convenient spot (like a scene change)

P.S. actually I've just read the back of the DVD and it does say this at the top above the barcode: 'Layer Transition May Trigger A Slight Pause' - no that's not a new PSB b-side

I have no problems with the extras....check your disc for marks?

There's no actual marks on the disc, although there does appear to be a circular line about 2 thirds towards the centre. I have seen this on other discs as well as CD's and it doesn't affect playback. I'll try it on another player and my computer and see how it goes. My DVD player is about 4 years old now and only cost £110 (very cheap at the time) so maybe it's something to do with that. Shame, I really enjoyed the West End Girls performance, especially as it was the Bobby Orlando version which I only heard for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

PopLife would have been much better. It would have followed the long sequence of one word titles. Channel 4 produced the programme so how much input did PSB have ?
