presumably time travel technology is a long ways off, figure when and if they do invent time travel the cell phone as is....ie having to hold a device up to ones ear would be long gone. cripes sake we had blue tooth technology in the 90's.

so why would a future time traveler go back in time with what would be a primitive outdated clunky device? for protection would he bring a civil war era flint pistol?

alot of times hoax makers forget simple logic.

I also take note the person stops conviently for the camera.
Absolutely spot on and irrefutable logic if using the commonly held perception of time travel (Which this news story does.).

Of course, if anyone even had a brief knowledge of physics, they will know that "backward" time travel is impossible in the classic sense (Ignoring the theories of parallel universes, wormholes etc .... ) Forward travel on the other hand is at least theoretically possible ....
I remember someone on the discovry channel saying that in theory time travel to the future would be relatively easy if we just had a spaceship that could go the speed neccesary.

something about if someone travelled for a certain speed for even just a year when they came back to earth it would be hundreds of years later. I think there would be a good movie plot in there somewhere. time exchangers. I imagine there are alot of people who would exchange living in this era for going to the future.

it would be a big business.a one way trip though.

Some time ago I saw a documentary in which a scientist stated that time travel to the past would be possible, but only until the exact time the time machine was switched on, not earlier.

If I could travel to a moment in history it would be when Neil meets Superchumbo...

All that buzz about the time traveler in the Chaplin movie is ridiculous, by the way.

Surely if you went at daft speeds, you would just go around the earth a ridiculous amount of times. Although if you could time travel this way, why wouldn't you be able to go back in time by reversing at stupid speeds?

Also, why would time travel be a long way away? It could have happened ages ago.

That women in the picture could be from a parallel world, where they still are in the dark ages and Charlie Chaplin is about as modern as they have got.

Or we could all just be sensible and agree that all that stuff is bullshit and the film has been slightly tampered with.

Genius.
We are star stuff which has taken its destiny into its own hands. The loom of time and space works the most astonishing transformations of matter. We are a way for the universe to know itself.
