Thats the point. RW has had this idea since 2004 according to chris heath. he wanted to re-invent himself. That was his aim when he started to write with stephen duffy, hence the Radio single.

Obviously EMI now feel it will sell.

Yes, Radio is kind of like the lost follow up to Hallo Spaceboy. Only this time it's Bowie singing a PSB tune.

PS The mix of the new single is called the Soul Mekanik dub. The guys from SM co-wrote Rock DJ.

I love Radio too, and I was sad when I heard Intensive Care without any Radio-like songs. (Anyway, I like Intensive Care)

Not necessarily. Didn't Robbie get total creative freedom with his last deal, or does my memory fail me?

So I'm 16 days older than Robbie. I think I could handle being a cradle snatcher!

Tiger Feet by Mud was No. 1 the day I was born too. Stop laughing.

Better than what was No. 1 in the US charts - The Way We Were by Barbra Streisand.

Well Neil T did say on Radio 1 that this would be regarded as a kind of experimental project. I don't even think he was sure if it would be an album at the time. My guess is nothing over 40 minutes.

Well a mate of mine (and Neil's) who was at the PSB TOL gig last Thursday lived with him for three years. There's loads I could tell you. But I'm not going to. :o

This just in:

A CONFIRMED cover version on RW's 1974 album is Manu Chao's King of Bongo. Manu is a bit of a legend on the French music scene. Check out the Je t'aime bit at the end

Mama was queen of the Mambo
Papa was king of the Kongo
Deep down in the jungle
I start banging my first bongo
Every monkey'd like to be in my place instead of me
Cause I'm the king of Bongo baby I'm the king of Bongo-bong

I went to the big town where there is a lot of sound
From the jungle to the city looking for a bigger crowd
So I played my boogie for the people of big city
But they don't go crazy when I'm banging on my boogie
(ref)
the King of the bongo, king of the bongo
hear me when i come baby
King of the bongo king of the bongo
hear me when i come

Nobody'd like to be in my place instead of me
cause nobody go crazy when i bang it on my boogie
I'm a king without a crown and keep loosing the big town
But I'm the king of bongo baby I'm the king of bongo-bong

(ref)

They say that Im a clown making too much dirty sound
They say there is no place for little monkey in this town
Nobody'd like to be in my place instead of me
Cause nobody go crazy when I'm bangin on my boogie

(ref)

Bang it on my bongo all that swing belongs to me
I'm so happy there's nobody in my place instead of me
I'm a king without a crown and keep loosing the big town
I'm the king of bongo, baby I'm the king of bongo-bong

(ref)

Mama was queen of the Mambo
Papa was king of the Kongo
Deep down in the jungle
I start banging my first bongo
Every monkey'd like to be in my place instead of me
Cause Im the king of Bongo baby Im the king of Bongo-bong

Hear me when I come
Hear me when I come baby
Hear me when I come

Je ne t'aime plus tous les jours

I'm really looking forward to this album, especially as the new hot thing Lily Allen is guest vocalist on two tracks. She's superb.

An acetate Rudebox CD has surfaced. Including 3 remixes :

1. RUDEBOX (Soul Mekanik Extended Dub)
2. RUDEBOX (Chicken Lips Dub Malfunction)
3. RUDEBOX (Riton Remix)

Chicken Lips? Sounds tasty. :P
