That''s a fair point, but even by the standards of greatest hits packages, D4 is very poor. After all, the Boys gave us two totally new tracks with each of their greatest hits collections, as well as a few oddities (in the case of Discography, various 7" versions that hadn't been on CD before; in the case of PopArt, the incorrect version of I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing). It's possible that there'll be some differences between the mixes on D4 and the versions we've heard before -- but I don't expect it.

I don't have any of these songs. But I want PSB tracks! Are these PSB covers, or just remixes of the other artists with the other artist singing?

Like i said in the other thread, i guess you al lcannot be wrong. It's just that i haven't heard most of the stuff on Disco 4. By the sounds of it, i've been fortunate.

They are remixes so PSB provides just the music, the vocals are by Killers, Rammstein, Yoko Ono etc.

now if psb HAD done the vocals to "Read My Mind", "sorry", "walking on thin ice" then it would have been a different response !!!! ;)

It's not a bad disc, but i for one expected something along the line of Disco 3: some new tracks, some new remixes plus some recycled ones. Now we get one measly new remix. Which is infinitely worse than zero or two new remixes/songs - it really adds insult to injury.

This would have been a good release, within a different climate, around 15 years ago. I presume a large proportion of fans don’t own these releases in their original guise, and have downloaded them. I, for one, don’t own anything with the extended mix of the Bowie track on it and I downloaded the Rammstein remixes from iTunes. Maybe they think it’s a good idea for fans who have only been able to illegally download the tracks?
To me it looks like something you’d give away as a fan club bonus or as a bonus second cd, like the third cd that came with PopArt.

Well, they are not all bad, some actually very good, but it seems so superfluous. Most PSB fans will have these tracks except Integral. I feel disappointed.
I'm already looking forward to their next release :D and I'll quickly ignore this one.

Those who haven't heard these tracks before will probably find a few that they like. I think the Boys' mix of Bowie's "Hallo Spaceboy" is fantastic (and it does feature some Neil vocals), and I quite like their Atomizer mix, which has much the same kind of old-school electro / nu-school electroclash appeal as the material on Disco 3.

For the most part, though, I find the Boys' mixes of other artists to be pretty mediocre: they tend to do repetitive hi-NRG mixes, where once you've heard the first minute of music, you've pretty much heard the other six to eight minutes, too.

By the way ... looking at the order of the tracks, I wonder if this really will be another Disco 2, with the tracks mixed together. They seem to be arranged in an order that would lend itself to mega-mixing...

Nah, I have bought most of them from eBay. They are not very exclusive and therefore not very expensive. So noone can claim he had no option but to illegally download them. That's unwillingness if not pure laziness.

''Only 8 tracks yadda yadda yadda.'' What was the mood when Disco and Introspective were released.Only 6 tracks each. Razor blades at the ready?
There's a palpable sense of disappointment after the magnificence of Disco 3. It's just another PSB 'product' like Concrete or Cubism rather than something fresh and exciting.

This is the biggest PSB related disappointment ever  Bought all these cd-singles to collect these remixes. Now they are compiled on one disc, adding exactly one new remix.

I would be able to live with it if Integral would have been a single, but no...
Crap.

This might be good marketing for PSB as remixers. I can't wait to hear the remix of Integral. However, I don't understand why they would do a video and not release it as a single. Is this a first? Even Paninaro was released in Italy I think.

I'm not saying they had no opition to buy them, just that they didn't bother as it was released by a different artist.
