You're talking about Gloria Jones' 60s original or Soft Cell?

Either way, one was a Motown track sung by a woman and the other was a 'New Romantic' track sung by Marc Almond. 'Nuff said.

Soft Cell's biggest achievement is quite amazing really.

Who'd have thought that a 'wimpy' New Romantic cover version sung by an over made-up chicken-legged gay pervert from Leeds would become one of the biggest selling singles in American history?

Tainted Love had already ceased its record-breaking 43 week run on the Billboard chart by the time that video was made though.

I'd rather someone showed me the infamous Sex Dwarf.

i wonder how many pop lovers here have become converted to Rihanna as she took the throne over the last few years, she really is a huge pop force now, over 62 million fans on facebook
and seems like people generally love her, regardless of sex, age, they acknowledge her
Xtina who avoids talking about her female rivals admitted she has a thing for Rihanna
even PSB said Rihanna is the biggest popstar now when asked about Lady Gaga, the shade :)
whether it's for her looks, attitude, performances, singles - that's a real popstar to me, she's got it
i couldn't stand her pre-2009, now with every album, i'm more interested
Unapologetic is out in a week or two, snippets are out, sounds great
Well, no one would have noticed if you hadn't dragged it up after 4 years...

Apologies for being thick here, but is this Rihanna rumour true?
If so, that's bloody brillaint news - in terms of exposing the boys to the chance of an actual big hit again,
in suits or sequins/or twin sets and pearls

wow. what a depressing lot most of you are... it's sad to see so many fans of Pet Shop Boys entrenched in the 80's, still. believe it or not, music has continued to move forward! it would be an incredible opportunity for both PSB and Rihanna if they worked together. while i doubt this is true (she's an urban-focused 24 year old from the Bahamas. hardly their market.) i can't imagine a PSB fan not wanting this to happen. their collabs. have always been stellar, and she's one of the most successful acts in the world.

it's very exciting that Claudia Brucken covered one of their old songs, but come on... let's not be scared of the present-tense.

The last time PSB tried to cater for the general listener, we got Winner, and look how that turned out. A big disaster in the eyes of the fans.
