Which, ladies and gentlemen, coincidentally and succinctly sums up Erasure's career, post-1994.
Unlike PSB's which has been full of smash hits since 1994 (Or has it?)!!!!

(Sorry forgot it does not matter because they remixed Madonna!!!!!!)

Not especially relevent here, but I find it interesting that the mixer on Pet Shop Boys' collaboration with Girls Aloud, Jeremy Wheatley, is one of Erasure's most frequent and favorite collaborators...

It was for the recent West End revival of the play Bent. As far as I know the only way you could have heard it was to see the play – it's not been released officially, or even as a promo.

And I've never heard the, presumably original unremixed, TV version of Blockhead, did anyone else?:

The timing of the announcement was rather suspect, wasn't it? In fact, spookily similar to the timing of the albums mentioned in the first post of this very thread.

But I'm guessing the 666 posts of yours have a deeper meaning. Fan of Iron Maiden too are you?

It was a terrible move. I think they lost a lot of casual fans because of it as well. How the hell is stating you deliberatly contracted H.I.V going to sell records? Stupid as well as disgusting.

Are you saying he's admitted being a bug-chaser? I'd not heard that before.

Christ almighty, if that's true the guy is even more of a sad, self-loathing Bell-End than I realised.

He most certainly did. I cannot remember what he said word for word but it was something like '' I wanted to contract H.I.V because i saw it as a touchstone of being gay''

Nahh, they have only had 3 number one albums so they can't be that good, plus they have never worked with Madonna.

And as for the timing of Andy Bell's HIV outing, don't pop group's normally get interviewed around the time they release an album, (which could quite easily be the reason why)? Or would that be rather suspect?

Anyway let's be honest and say that it can not exactly be seen as a promotion tool can it? The poor Andy Bell has HIV let's go and buy the new Erasure cd! Almost as stupid as saying Erasure are releasing an album to profit from a PSB Brit award, is it not? And he got it on purpose? Is this from an official interview or just made up? If it's true then it's strange but I doubt it!

Have you never heard of the sympathy vote? This is exactly the PR ploy Cliff Richard worked a treat with for his nauseating Millennium Prayer. That got him to No.1 whereas Bell-End's 'admission' got the Nightbird album to No.27. :gag:

Here's an extract from the aformentioned interview, definitely official:

http://www.fazed.com/musicnews/Andy_Bel ... esire.html

And, hilariously, for those of us that don't know who Andy Bell is, here he gets a roasting (in the old-fashioned sense of the word, I think) from someone from his potty peer group:

http://deanscyberspace.wordpress.com/20 ... s-or-what/

Whatever minute residual grain of respect I had left in passing for Erasure has now gone completely out of the open window with this masochistic buffoon's statement. Victim Of Love? More like victim of being a self-loathing chump.

I blame the Lurpak.

Of course thats how it works. how many artists get stuff released when they die?

To be fair, the album is being released to profit from PSB's award. Anyone can see that. It was originally supposed to be released last month, then this month. now it's one week after the Brit Awards. Come on, it's pretty obvious.

And unfortunatly, the H.I.V confession is 100% true.
