Potemkin CD + DVD

#1 Post by Propertius »

SirenDisc is now listing a CD + DVD combo of Battleship Potemkin with a Sept. 5 release date (iirc). They list the regular CD of Potemkin and the CD, DVD, and 12" single format of "No Time For Tears" as being Aug. 29 releases. I suspect things will get delayed, but Siren isn't given to making up releases out of thin air, so evidently some record-company channel is putting the word out.

It has also popped up on the German
Amazon with 'anticipated release date'
05th of September 2005:

Have a look here.

€ 28,99! That's pretty expensive as it's
the CD not DVD, 1 CD only ...

A DVD isn't yet mentioned.

I'll definitely buy the CD+DVD combo if it comes out. Do you think it will include just the film, or also footage from the live concert?

It's the UK-import. That's because it is so expensive. The german/EU-version is going to be cheaper, I'm sure!

Normally there's no huge difference.
£ 15.99 for just one CD is very ex-
pensive as well. It's about € 23 ...
I mean, € 28 is DEM 55 for one CD
about approximately 73 minutes!

I remember well that the UK PopArt
cost £ 15.99 but it was a triple CD! I
have just looked it up, it's still sealed
(with price label) in my shelf.

I wonder how much the DVDs will be
then.

I *think* the high prices are for import versions...

So you *think* £ 15.99 's a
proper price for a 1-CD-CD
in the UK? I still *think* it's
a bit expensive ...

But when you talk about a dvd, you are talking about the movie? A dvd single, or what?

No one knows until PSBs make a formal announcement; however an obvious guess would be that it means a DVD of the film with the PSB soundtrack and a CD of the soundtrack in a package together.

What will be interesting is if there are any bonus features or Trafalgar Square footage.
