Madonna steals from Psb on the new album

#1 Post by markus »

The keyboards/synths in the song "Jump" are stolen or borrowed from "Being Boring" according to swedish magazine QX. http://www.qx.se/nyheter/artikel.php?artikelid=3980

Oi, nej.... Maybe we should consider it as an honour to PSB but I don´t.

I once asked Neil in the OS whether he thought the synth in the song "Ray of Light" was very PSBish (I thought that from the very first listening) and he said it reminded him of "Where the streets have no name"... :)

N & C will be very upset when they find out their keyboards are missing :snooty:

Like the main parts of 'Hung Up' are
certainly meant as a tribute to ABBA.

So they decided to steal the synth sounds from Frozen for Miracles... sounds fair. :)

According to www.popjustice.co.uk (talking about Confessions on a Dancefloor):

"the nods to 'West End Girls' and 'Paninaro' in other bits of the album are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING."

How exciting is that?
We’re different from the others.
No one understands us here.
Imagine how free we will be,
If we disappear?

Do you think they will be asking Madonna for a 100% royalty then? :P

Sure she'll answer them "why don't we live together?"

PSB should feel very proud and honoured of being featured (sort of) in this album, where Madonna is paying tribute not only to herself but to the dance music legends: Kraftwerk, ABBA, Jacksons, Donna Summer... and the Pet Shop Boys.

I can't wait to hear this album.

Besides, the album producer (Stuart Price / Jacques Lu Cont / Les Rythmes Digitales) has always been a declared fan of the Pet Shop Boys, so it's not that strange for him to put some nods to the PSB music in his songs.

PSB should really think about calling Stuart Price to make some music together, it would be an awesome collaboration. At least I hope for a Jacques Lu Cont remix of one single from their new album.

Why? It seems most of you speak swedish fluently... ;)

Well I'll try my best:

Jump (Madonna, Joe Henry och Stuart Price)
Madonnas svåger Joe Henry har tidigare medförfattat hiten Don't tell me. Personligen avskydde jag den - tyckte den lät lite väl Louise Hoffsten. Det här är något helt annat. Jump har om inte stulit så definitivt lånat en hel del synthslingor från Pet Shop Boys Being Boring. Och lagt in handklappsljud, hurra!

In english:

Madonna's brother in law Joe Henry co-wrote the hit Don't tell me. Personally I hated it - thought it sounded too much like Louise Hoffsten (A swedish blues singer). This is something totally different. Jump has if not stolen but definately borrowed quite a few synth-loops from Pet Shop Boys Being Boring. And added handclap sound, hurrah!
