Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless
Are people using humor here or am I just deaf to the trauma of the 7"?

Re: Pet Shop Boys - 5 UNRELEASED tracks from the Fundamental era (Superchumbo, Warren, demos, etc)
It is gobsmacking
But then I remind myself they have such a long and wide career that they could of probably been two or three different bands stylistically.
So sometimes we are listening to different bands, and some of us are a little more particular with who they listen to

the PSB demos are remarkably complete
love Luna Park, Casanova, Numb, etc...
"Come and join a line / the ghost train leaves on time" is a very sneaky double entendre.

Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless
It's a good point, and you could argue that Disco 1 is more Electric than Electric . Maybe they could of stopped at the first album + remixes

Re: You Need More: A Pet Shop Boys Listening Guide
Or maybe we are all just old and spoiled by so much choice 🙃 Maybe your first entry point into PSB land is amazing no matter what album it is? Maybe we love the early stuff because that's what we first heard. A bit like old Star Wars fans dismissing Jar Jar as childish while defending their collecti...

https://www.flickr.com/photos/christianmontone/46093905714/sizes/k/ Largest version I could find, not owning it myself. Row 6, Column 6 - wonder if six is a favorite number? On this topic, I seem to remember the solid orange CD case could have the back panel removed to find more art? Very is the tri...

Re: New single „Dancing star“ (digital April 3rd / CD May 3rd)
nice find Oznerol!
The Blitz version would sound great on a dance floor - it's got all the bells and whistles.
Seems to be a full version?
Wonder who's saying "Would you let you in?"
(wont listen to a remix of Dancing until I hear the real thing)

So that was a quarter of a century ago... have they been doing all wrong music since then?

Re: Track-by-Track: From Please to Nonetheless
I always imagined the voice at the start being a paper boy calling out a random daily headline
Had never been to England so I pictured him like Oliver Twist dressed in tweed and a cap, lol.

I found the cover quite New Romantic, but a bit modernised for the time.

Re: Single or album version preferences
The single version of Monkey Business ends with the chorus callout, which is terrific.
On the album they just fade out - which is the way to end a song when you don't know how to end it. So it's weird to not choose the single method, imo.

I had to run that tweet through Google Translate several times before it began to make sense to me.
It'd be ten time worse if you didn't know was a Pet Shop Boy was.
