Re: Albums played live

Don’t forget there are plenty of rarely played hits. And that they constantly reinvent those they do play. True, but we would never get an 11 minute version of BB or 10 minute full version of West End girls etc in a greatest hits show. And what's the point for us hardcore fans with a greatest hits ...

Re: Albums played live

I completely disagree with Drico. Any band honouring a particular album in a live setting does not show a band being desperate, in decline or creatively finished. Plenty of bands do this who are still commercially successful. Suede did a 5 night residency at Brixton Academy a few years ago where the...

Re: Albums played live

Please!!!!! The first PSB album I bought in ‘87 when It’s a Sin came out and ‘I Want a Lover’ is still my favourite song on that album and they’ve still never played it live. I’d give anything to hear that live and Tonight is Forever. Then all the associated B-sides. Imagine hearing Please from star...

Re: Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller

If memory serves, and it was a long, long time ago, the boys played Long Hot Summer during one of their Simon Bates stand-ins. Controversially, I think Paul Weller did his best work in The Style Council. Not controversial at all - well, not in this house anyway! I’ve always thought The Style Counci...

Re: Sophie Ellis Bextor - It’s a Sin

Jeez...I apologise wholeheartedly for mis-leading you in my post by calling it a cover. I’m so sorry.

Just for you, I shall re-edit it to read ‘karaoke’ instead, ok! Hope that makes you feel less...let down?

PSB Vinyl: A Question

Hi guys, I’m thinking of re-purchasing PSB albums on vinyl, having recently got back into vinyl. My vinyl LP’s were in the loft and are slightly cold damaged / water stained :( but just wanted to know if anybody can answer, do the current pressings of PSB albums come with their original inner pictur...

Re: DREAMWORLD Greatest Hits Tour RESCHEDULED until 2021

I think this is a lovely idea: a "Besides" online tour. Who knows if it's the sort of thing they'd want to spend time on right now, but would be great if they could plan a small number of streamed performances of B-sides and deeper album cuts. Perhaps they could program arrangements thems...

Re: DREAMWORLD Greatest Hits Tour RESCHEDULED until 2021

 On a serious note, I think now is the time for them to start thinking about some kind of live stream. A performance of their/our favourite b-sides, the sort of thing that would be commercially unsuccessful, but we as fans would love. And what a way to compliment the greatest hits tour as thes...

Re: DREAMWORLD Greatest Hits Tour RESCHEDULED until 2021

I guess they could not start the preparations due to the lock down/risks of infections. Will use the discovery DVD as a pain killer in april :-) Yeah, agreed. I think this is the reason why PSB are digging into their live catalogue, to bridge the gap. As we now have 15 months to wait again, hopeful...

Re: Time to get ready for "Annually 2021"...

In some ways, I prefer Literallys when there IS nothing to talk about. I really find some of the reportage around, say, the staging of a show or a new musical a little tedious and out of date by the time it arrives. I prefer when they have little to report and so we get more articles about things w...

Hmmm, is there actually anything to write about in the next issue? I mean nothing has happened. Maybe we’ll get a feature of Neil pottering around his garden showing off all his new plants 🤔
