Re: The New Album Info Thread

It's really so analogue. Neil is correct...a new dimension to their sound. Chris said today on the Lauren Laverne BBC Radio 6 interview, that while recording at Hansa Studios here in Berlin, that he used many of the vintage analogue synths that he had never even heard of on the album. Exciting! Giv...

It's a nice goodbye as Electric is a nice hello on x2.
Yes, it is very neat and hard not to think it was preplanned.

Re: Back catalogue countdown to Hotspot

Electric is definitely a great album. But I do struggle slightly with the idea that this was somehow a return to form - it was just a return to a certain type of Pet Shop Boys, and one which chimed with a large percentage of the fanbase. It’s probably their only album that strikes one mood and stick...

Re: Back catalogue countdown to Hotspot

Slim pickings on Elysium Further Listening - their best work was clearly been channelled into fast-follower Electric. The demo of Vocal lays clear Price’s monumental contribution to this track. In slow motion, I started a joke and In his imagination are all nice enough. The three mixes of Leaving ar...

Re: Back catalogue countdown to Hotspot

Elysium has a brace of five star tracks. Invisible is up there for me as one of their best songs ever. I love the production and kind of wish more of the album was in the same vein. A face like that is also fantastic, although it goes against the grain of the album. I wonder what Price would have ma...

Re: DREAMWORLD TOUR

Neil and Chris were interviewed on http://www.wave105.com/ this afternoon - promoting the Bournemouth date of the tour as well as the new album. While chatting about the tour, Neil revealed that New York City Boy will not be in the set list and that it’s likely that You only tell me you love me whe...

Re: PSB interview on Radio Manchester (20/02/2020)

Thanks for the link Nickname sadly nothing really new here ... why can’t these interviewers ask at least one interesting or unique question. Just replaying what was written somewhere else is hardly Pulitzer prize winning stuff ... Wasted opportunities To be fair it’s local radio, designed to promot...

Re: Back catalogue countdown to Hotspot

I was lucky enough to see The Most Incredible Thing twice. For me it is their most successful side project. The music is a lush expansion on the more basic Potemkin, and a smoother blend of electronics and orchestra. There are no injected traditional songs. The excellent clock sequence is the closes...
