Re: Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller
If memory serves, and it was a long, long time ago, the boys played Long Hot Summer during one of their Simon Bates stand-ins. Controversially, I think Paul Weller did his best work in The Style Council.

Re: PSB namechecks in New Order biogs
The Stephen Morris book is brilliant, possibly even better than Hooky's Substance Bernard Sumner's book was a bit disappointing. Stephen Morris’s books are entertaining enough, but badly need an editor, especially for fourteen odd quid. The standard of the written English is pretty poor in many pla...

Re: Hotspot: 1 year old today
Astonishing. I think Hoping for a Miracle is one of the best things they’ve ever done and the dreamy middle section is Actually-era quality.

Try to be kind to one another, people. Dig deep and show a little love and understanding. Some people have lost loved ones, some people have lost their livelihood, others are losing their minds. We’re all hurting.

Re: Hotspot: 1 year old today
I thought the anniversary must be coming up. I listened to the instrumental version whilst out walking the other day and thought it sounded ace.

One good thing to consider is that being a greatest hits tour, Dreamworld isn’t linked to Hotspot or the next album. In that sense they could tour at any time, pandemic permitting.

Re: News: "Chris and Neil have been at their homes, writing new songs and working on music for a new theatre production"
Whatever they are working on now, I wonder how that is carried on technically. A big part of their drive has always been the joy of in-studio collaboration: Chris would noodle something on the keyboards, Neil would immediately come up with ideas how to develop that or lyrics. Sort of creative brain...

I had a variation of this on cassette years ago. It was just studio out takes. Sounds like this was made from that.

Re: CD with demos of "Actually"
Is there a complete record anywhere of all the recording sessions done by the Pets over the years with details of songs attempted/mixed/scrapped etc.? Doubtful. I should imagine Neil’s diaries are the closest thing. There would be studio booking records, but they wouldn’t have details of what was b...

Re: A funny rare photo to watch of Neil Tennant
Nickname - please don’t worry about some of the comments on this post. The photo of Neil next to the baby I have seen myself a very long time ago in a magazine it was the celebrate something PSB’s related. :) I think the lady and baby could be Eric Watson’s wife and child. Neil was good friends wit...
