Re: "Covers": a big dilemma for PSB

TSHP?

EDIT: Oh, ‘The Schlager Hit Parade’. I really hate this trend of referring to songs by their initial letters. Stop being so bloody lazy, have some consideration for the reader and write the full name!

Re: "Covers": a big dilemma for PSB

I think the orchestral version of 'Somewhere' is underrated.

Re: "Covers": a big dilemma for PSB

I’m still hoping for their cover of Joe Fagin’s classic “That’s Livin’ Alright”.

Wey aye man!

Re: Pet Shop Boys on Youtube

not sure if we are allowed to talk about the elephant in the room yet but the Neil Tennant AI on this chorus could be a great official single , much much better than the Bowie cover IMHO , I know the Azzalto voice is not for everyone, just skip to the chorus then at minute 1:03 https://www.youtube ...

One easy way to tell the Performance version is that it has extra orchestral hits playing the main riff.

I’ve no idea whether it’s Chris or not, but the flick back of the head did remind me of Chris’s dancing in the ‘Domino Dancing’ video.

The song is spoiled for me by Neil’s peculiar pronunciation of its title.

Re: Exposure and success

But also The Living Daylights...IMHO PSB have yet to have a song used in a major mainstream movie to truly break out to a wider (and younger) audience. I don't think a-ha's semi-forgotten theme for a second-rate Bond movie are what's driving a-ha's numbers. 'The Living Daylights' isn't even in ...

Re: Exposure and success

What I noticed the other day which I found odd was that A-ha, who, whilst of course I am aware of their many albums over the years, I would consider much more a “80s one hit wonder” in the public consciousness than PSB, have 18.2m monthly listens on Spotify as opposed to PSB with 7.2m. Clearly I am ...

Re: 3rd B-sides Compilation

I reckon the next will either be a six disc set with all the b-sides or a two-disc of the last 15 years but not in release order. I find it hard to believe they'd start of a compilation with all those cover versions. Especially as they largely mislaid their genius with a cover version 30 years ago ...
